Changing Kenya's Future, one Child at a time…. God opened our eyes to the possibility of ministering to the growing orphan needs through the local church in August of 2008. A Baptist Church in Germany started supporting a project and wanted us to oversee it. We were able to help six orphans and other needy children in the village of Alaro. It opened many doors to preach the Gospel, through a local church that we planted in Kisii, and over 100 adults and children have been saved. Luke and Tonya Shelby.

Making a Difference in Kenya's Future, one Child at a time…. 1 Basic Needs Care Package:. Given monthly if the child is living with relatives, and is approximately $15 per child ($.50 per day). Food and Sanitary Items - Rice, Beans, Sugar, Tea Leaves, Maize, Salt, Candy, Mosquito Nets, Soap, Toothbrushes, Toilet Paper, and etc. 2 Local Church Orphan Care:. Daily care by a family under the authority of a local church, and is approximately $30/month per child ($1 a day). Luke and Tonya Shelby.

We live and work in the town of Kisii, Kenya (which is located in the southwestern corner of Kenya), 50 miles north of the border of Tanzania and 50 miles east of Lake Victoria. Kisii town is south of the equator and is at the elevation of approximately 6,500 feet above sea level. National Language: Swahili and English. Size of Kenya: approximately the size of Texas.
