It was opened in August 2006 in a superbly converted sandstone barn, to add to the Orton Grange Farm Shop which is next door. Indeed, you can walk between the two. Many people arrive to visit the shop, and end up having lunch in the café. You can order and spend your time browsing until your food is ready. As you'll see from these pictures we were determined to ensure that all our stock is imaginative and top quality. For example, look at the beautiful children's pyjamas. Several grown-ups have asked whether we stock adult sizes because they are so luxurious. We'll have to work on that one! And what about our wonderful range of quality blue and white china? Our second wind turbine has just been erected and the two will provide power not only for the Orton Grange complex, but also for Gray's Boarding Kennels nearby. ORTON GRANGE - there's so much going on! Orton Grange, a 360 acre dairy farm, is about four miles from Carlisle on the A595 towards Wigton and West Cumbria. Over the last few years we've converted our redundant sandstone farm buildings. As well as Cranston's Food Hall, we have our Cafe and Gift Shop,. Ally's Shearing Shed hair salon and there's a swimming. Pool which you can hire by the hour. During school holidays. In term time it's used for swimming lessons for babies and toddlers.
