History | The Village Church
http://thevillagechurch.co.nz/content/history
St Anne's Pantry. Khandallah Presbyterian parish has roots that can be traced back well over 100 years. Scottish settlers arrived in the area around 1856 and records show that they held their earliest services in 1878 in private homes, then in a small community hall in Simla Crescent. In 1978, the Session decided that the land beside the church, previously used by a tennis club, could be better used and eight retirement villas were built. These are now well established and are always occupied.
