About - Amarissa's Takes on Life
http://amarissatakes.com/about-2
I was a pretty classic case of a depressed teenager, which brought me to very extreme questions and conclusions about life. As a disclaimer, I feel like I should apologize for the story I’m about to tell, both because it’s a very heavy topic for a blog intro, and because I haven’t told my parents (sorry mom and dad! I’ve read about God’s power in the bible, and I figure if He wants to do something, He’s going to do it. My mind was blown. And I found, for the first time, joy. Diffused by Ostmosis Labs.

Mar 5, 2016. My feelings were hurt a little bit. But I figured if nothing else, I was entertaining, and that meant they at least had a good day at work and something to laugh about later. That was loving enough, giving them something to laugh about at the expense of my pride. It’s true that people are fallen, but by inherent design every single person bears God’s own image. On March 5, 2016 at 9:17 pm. Nice work, I could never write this eloquently. On March 5, 2016 at 9:25 pm. Diffused by Ostmosis Labs.

Harvard Series I: The Boulder - Amarissa's Takes on Life

Harvard Series I: The Boulder. Mar 17, 2017. The giant boulder stood by the sea, feeling a little defeated and rather confused. But in the midst of discouragement, God said to the boulder “there is nothing you can do to turn yourself into sand. Only endure.”. In my contemplative and honest brain, I came to two conclusions. The first was that if I applied, I probably wouldn’t get in- unless God was going to make it happen. The second was that my trust in God was not based on whether or not H...This goodne...

Mar 25, 2016. 8220;What do you see? 8221; He asked me. I looked at the sidewalk which was covered in ice crystals. 8220;The ground is sparkling.” I thought it was kind of a dumb observation, but it was the first thing I noticed. 8221; He asked. At this, God replied “Exactly. you will always have rough edges, but I am shaping them to reflect me.”. A few months later I was in Thailand sitting with a three English students. We were becoming friends, but they just couldn’t pronounce my name!

Rooftops and God - Amarissa's Takes on Life
http://amarissatakes.com/2016/03/24/rooftop-converations-god
Mar 24, 2016. After a long day of being out in the hot sun, acclimating to another culture, and desensitizing myself to the pain in the slums of India, there was nothing more refreshing than sitting on the rooftop with good friends. I can’t really reminisce about a cool breeze or quiet atmosphere, because it was still very hot and very. There so many good people who deserved heaven, so why wouldn’t He let all of them in? The very fabric of our material existence is so far beyond our comprehension. Ju...

Mar 23, 2016. You might be thinking “gosh Amarissa, why couldn’t you have as much faith in your own God as a Hindu woman? 8221; Or maybe you’re thinking more along the lines of “I don’t think I would ever pray for someone’s healing. Why did you even do that? 8221; To answer both of these questions, I’ll back up a few months to the time when I was in America preparing for the trip to India. Harvard Series IV: The Reapplication. Mar 20, 2017. 8220;You see, Aslan didn’t tell Pole what would happen. He only told her what to do. That fellow will be the death of us… But that doesn’t let us off following the Sign . This quote is probably lost to those who haven’t read any books in the Chronicles of Narnia series. It’s from the book The Silver Chair. Where Aslan, who represents Jesus, had given signs for the character, Jill Pole, to follow. In all of those weeks and months, I don’t think there was...
