I'm taking it easy at home, watching Carols on TV.been overdoing the catching up with everyone in Sydney. The weather is poor, very atypical Sydney summer, grey, overcast, raining, for the last week! Its strange to have a wet grey Christmas, but hey, its that kind of year! Its great to be home, with the family and friends. Loving my time home. Monday, November 20, 2006. Cheeseland - Swiss Alps. This weekend, was lucky enough to travel out to Geneva and see some more of the Swiss and French Alps with John. My first weekend in Europe for some 4 months. We drove out to the lovely Gruyere, famous for its cheese, excellent fondue and maccaroons. Monday, July 31, 2006. Maria, Amsterdam - 30 July. Back to Amsterdam to visit Maria for a cruisy weekend. I arrive at 1am, as my flight is delayed 2 hours. Monday, March 26, 2007. This weekend saw me back "Home" to Scotland. A mad zoo/circus atmophere at London Bridge with the scrum to get the Train.I really really dislike London transport, and was missing the moderate pace of the planes already. 4 relatively quiet hours later, I arrived at midnight in the Auld Town of Edinburgh again, a clear crisp and cold night. Tuesday, October 31, 2006. An excellent weekend in town. Including me cooking dinner for the lads, then a visit to Trafalgar Square for Islamic EID end of Ramadan festival. Sunday Roast at the lads place was lovely.ahh the pork crackling! Somehow talking about EID and Pork seems out of place in the same blog entry.nevermind. Sunday, August 27, 2006. All dressed up but no where to go. Today saw John and I out to another football match, this time at Chalton, SE London. We were expecting a nice win, but were humbled by a 2-0 scoreline. After a long drive home, we had a lovely meal at Cafe Brazil. Thursday, April 26, 2007. Fire on the Tube. Early finish to my working day and I was down to get the tube home and meet friends for dinner.After 10mins on the tube, standing near the door reading my magazine and listening to music, I smelt smoke. Not ciggie smoke, but proper something serious on fire type of smoke. As I looked up and took out my ear buds, out, more people started looking around with abit of alarm in their eyes.
