Otter can be used in almost any code editor that can compile C#, but personally I prefer to use Visual Studio on Windows. First youre going to need the latest version of Otter. The download includes all the source, and a .csproj file which will be the main way youll be hooking it up to Visual Studio. Next you want to open Visual Studio and create a new project. Select a Console Application (a Windows Application also works) in the Visual C# category. Now you can access Otter in your game project!

Set up a project using Otter in Visual Studio. Create a simple game window. The basic building blocks of an Otter game. Input and Basic Interaction. Have an entity move around the screen from player input. Use an externally loaded image file in a game. Use a sprite sheet to make an animated graphic. Use multiple scenes to organize a game project. Detect collisions and overlaps between Entities. Use the Session class to keep track of player data and controls. Loading Ogmo Editor Levels.
