Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Mostly Painting and a Little Bit of Photography. When people find out that I consider myself a practicing artist, the inevitable follow-up question goes something to the tune of, "what medium do you work in? I invariably respond, "mostly painting and a little bit of photography." I realized recently, however, that this blog features only drawings and paintings, and no photography at all. A very brief record of the renovation of a. Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'. A larger collection of photographs can be seen here. The complete story told day-by-day can be seen here. This is 'Otter' as I first saw her. She was obviously rotten. This is the same inverted boat after I had stripped back all the rotten wood. All that was left was the deck (the underside of which you can see here), the top two strakes (the bottom two were rotten) and the transom. The port side stakes epxied in place.

Sunday, May 6, 2012. Another CST Has Come and Gone! Dear Otter Families,. Hallelujah, we have all survived our annual ritual of standardized testing. The kids did an admirable job of maintaining focus and. Giving it their best shot. I know it isn't easy for an 11/12 year old to sit still and silent for an hour and a half every morning for a week, but they did it with a positive attitude and a smile. You've got to love these kids! You are truly awesome. As always, thank you for your continuing support.
