When the gates were opened to let a prison transport van through, some men ‘in Muslim garb’ ran through with weapons and a grenade (allegedly the one in the photo to the left) and three prisoners absconded in a vehicle which later crashed in the vicinity of Port of Spain General Hospital (PoSGH).
