An Ounce of Luck and a Pound of Faith. The story of a child with PHPV, a mom with MS, and our lucky little family. Sunday, March 18, 2012. A friend of mine shared this article from our newspaper on Facebook and I though it was absolutely lovely. A wonderful reminder that we can all touch lives by living an "ordinary" life. An Ounce of Luck and a Pound of Faith: Summer Memories
http://ounceofluck.blogspot.com/2012/07/summer-memories.html
An Ounce of Luck and a Pound of Faith. The story of a child with PHPV, a mom with MS, and our lucky little family. Thursday, July 19, 2012. I must admit that I just looked back over my last few blog posts and realized I haven't posted pictures of my girls in 6 months! Funny, I still turn to my fellow Eye moms and their blog posts daily but I have not returned the favor. Not sure exactly why. A combination of things I imagine. If I do that means no contact and no patching. Is it worth that? The ducks love...

Patches, camo and other random thoughts: August 2013
http://patchesandcamo.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Vacation is over.literally. Today was my first official day back at work. Boo. Summer is officially over for our household. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to be home with my kids for almost 10 weeks in the summer and blessed for the benefits that come with that job. But it is certainly hard to go back in August. Last week we went on an 8 day cruise with our family. It was a blast! The cab driver tried to charge us extra becaus...

Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Pumpkins and cooler weather and all the fall activities. It is awesome! We've had a blast going to trunk or treat, picking an carving pumpkins, and being together. James got the kids the biggest pumpkin ever! He remembers always wanting a big pumpkin as a kid, so I guess to relive his childhood, he got a ginormous pumpkin. The kids loved it and had so much fun carving it. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Seriously, we all had a blast. I had ...
Patches, camo and other random thoughts: Christmas
http://patchesandcamo.blogspot.com/2014/01/christmas.html
Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Sunday, January 5, 2014. We had an awesome Christmas. It was really busy and relaxing at the same time. And the only reason I have time to write this blog and upload pics is because we are in the middle of snow-magedon 2014. Really, that is was the newscasters called it. Apparently it is a blizzard or something. I don't care what they call it. I'm just happy to have a snow day! After church, we went to a Japanese restaurant for dinner (as is tradition). Jed wa...
Patches, camo and other random thoughts: February 2014
http://patchesandcamo.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Saturday, February 22, 2014. Surgery, Snow and Sunshine! It has been a long time since I have posted. Life has been busy and hectic! Work is overloading right now, and all the snow days have messed with all of our schedules. Julia had her second strabismus surgery on Jan. 14th. She was a trooper. I was a mess. We have had so much snow - it has been overwhelming. So far we have had 7 snow days. Do you see what I see? Today it was really warm, so we decided to enjoy...
Patches, camo and other random thoughts: September 2012
http://patchesandcamo.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. And the results are in. 20/400 in the right eye. 20/100 in the left eye. I was stunned. I had never expected her left eye to be that impaired. We are counting on her left eye to be strong and healthy so that if we never attained good vision with the right, well, we could count on the left. Now her "sound" eye (as the doc calls it) isn't seeming so sound. And the cost is only 90 dollars for all three! I don't know if this is an apology ...

http://patchesandcamo.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Friday, July 26, 2013. So, I woke up at 3:30 am because I am sooooo excited about leaving for vacation today! My kids get to ride in an airplane (and I get to try to keep them from irritating the whole plane)! Jed is thrilled and can't wait to ride in the airplane and get on the boat (we are going on a cruise). I really don't think he understands what "vacation" is, but he has asked multiple times a day for the last week, "are we going on vacation now? Cloud dough...

Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Monday, June 23, 2014. It's been too long. Where has time gone? I can't believe that the last time I posted was the end of February. Here it is the end of June.I'm a bad blogger. So here are some pics to get you up to date. Over Spring Break we went to the zoo with the cousins. It wasn't quite warm yet, but we had a ton of fun. So thankful for a great zoo in our hometown (and it being free doesn't hurt either! How is my baby already four? Wonderful. The only n...

http://patchesandcamo.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Patches, camo and other random thoughts. Thursday, November 22, 2012. So lots of people are doing a "month of thankfulness" on facebook. I wish I was that dedicated. But after an awesome message at church on Sunday (thanks Pastor Phil) I do realize that I have a lot to be thankful for. So here goes.in no particular order. I am thankful for:. 2 DVR on the TV. 8 applesauce in a pouch. 15 central heat/air conditioning. 16 and much, much more. My fellow imoms - they truly "get it." I am amazed that I hav...
