Our House of 5. Friday, March 14, 2014. March Break - Part 2. March Break - Day 5. I checked the weather in the morning and saw the headline "Spring today, winter tomorrow". We wanted to take full advantage of the spring day. We went to Synder's Flats in the morning. Fiacra and Ailbhe cross-country skied again. It was beautiful out and actually got to 7ºC. Fiacra's face and neck got sunburnt! How is that possible? Ty stayed for dinner. Apparently I'm a hero who saved him from meatloaf. March Break - Day 6.

Our House of 5. Saturday, February 23, 2013. Family Fun - Week 7. Our New Year's resolution was to do at least one family activity or outing, just the five of us, every week this year. This is week 7 of family fun. It was Ailbhe's 7th birthday on Sunday. She asked to go out for breakfast, so we went to Rise and Shine (which used to offer free kids' breakfasts but as we discovered, doesn't anymore, too bad). Fitness Goals - Week 4. I was back on track last week and had 3 great runs. 5ºC feels like -10ºC.

Our House of 5. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Fitness Goals - Week 3. It was a good week despite the very cold temperatures. I would definitely prefer a more consistent winter. I'm not a fan of the temperature fluctuations we have been having. My first five Canadian winters were spent in Edmonton, where it gets cold and then stays cold all winter. Sometimes it was a little too cold, but I would take that over the melting-freezing cycle we are currently in. No bike trainer again! Friday, January 25, 2013.

Our House of 5. Friday, October 4, 2013. Backcountry Fun - The Massassauga. We had a great summer, but we weren't quite ready to let it go so we planned a backcountry canoe trip for the second weekend of September. Since Connell was teaching on Friday, the earliest we could leave was noon, so we wanted somewhere pretty close. We choose The Massassauga Provincial Park. The view from our site. Our campsite. We used two small tents again. Our new tent is well camouflaged. Fiacra and Ailbhe kayaking.
