Adventures in KiwiLand

Monday, September 26, 2011. Our Biggest Adventure in KiwiLand! This photo was taken at about 11 weeks). In case you haven't already heard, we're expecting an addition to the Gilbert clan in April 2012, making me almost 13 weeks now! We are very excited as we begin this new adventure, but there is so much to learn. I have met with her twice and really like her; she has over 30 years of experience so I feel comfortable with that. We have had two scans now, one to check how far along I was and to determine ...

Adventures in KiwiLand: May 2011

http://ouradventuresinkiwiland.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 14, 2011. Finally, a job! We have now been in New Zealand for over 6 months! It is hard to believe; at times it seems like longer than that. We do feel quite settled, which is the question we are asked most often. The big news is that I now have a job! And "How does your mission/vision/values fit in with ours? It has been worth waiting this long to find the right job! I started this past week, training with the lady I'm replacing, and I think it will be a great thing. Finally, a job!

Adventures in KiwiLand: Hen's Night

http://ouradventuresinkiwiland.blogspot.com/2011/06/hens-night.html

Thursday, June 2, 2011. Yes, I said "hen's night". What is that, you say? That is the Kiwi version of a bachelorette party. The male counterpart, or bachelor party, is referred to as a "stag do." Last weekend I attended the pre-wedding festivities for one of the youth leaders in the church, including a "kitchen tea" (AKA bridal shower) and the hen's night. We are looking forward to Kris' parents coming for a visit in a month as well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Our New Kitchen Sink- Yes, a New Post Finally! I knew it'd been awhile since I'd last posted, but holy smokes, a year? If you're reading this, thanks for sticking with me! And this sink was around $220 at Home Depot! It's a Kohler Cape Dory. If you're going to put it in an existing kitchen, I'd recommend calling Kohler and asking for a template. They were extremely helpful and we had the template in a few days. And it was LOUD and MESSY! Henry is always a good helper! We were able...

Life in Israel

Therapy Out Kickboxing In. View my complete profile. Saturday, February 2, 2013. Therapy Out Kickboxing In. I registered for the class, all week long anticipating a few wild kicks and punches at that bag. To my surprise the studio filled up quickly with more than 20 strong healthy-looking young women. My kind instructor assured me that I was free to go at a level 1 pace. But where were the punching bags? And please tell me I don't have to spar with Miss Rambo over there! Then ten minutes more and those 4...

Our Adventures in the South

Our Adventures in the South. Sunday, May 3, 2015. What I want to remember about our flight home:. 1) Not as nice or exciting as our flight to Europe - I think the reasons are obvious. :) Also, we really liked Luftansa, and going back we flew Delta. 2) Making 3 attempts to watch the Lego Movie but kept falling aslepp. I made it through the third time though and it really made me laugh. 3) We had a layover in Newark and had the nicest time talking to a lady named Linda while we were eating lunch. 5) They d...
