Mom Smoo: taking after mom...
http://momsmoo.blogspot.com/2009/03/taking-after-mom.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. When both the boys were born everyone marveled at how much they looked like B. Truly it was frightening and people who hadn't seen L in person asked if we photoshopped pictures of him using B. LOL - obviously these are people who haven't ever had kids and have no idea what the sleep deprived early days are like. I just continue to hope they decide not to inherit my sight. It is BAD. It would be much better for them to have B's better then perfect vision any day. Well a week ago.

Happy Hippie Granola | My Rubberbandball
https://boxingoctopus.wordpress.com/2010/05/10/happy-hippie-granola
About the boxing octopus. That is not the name I would give it. I would call it, “OMG I JUST SAW JESUS granola,” it’s that good. Or maybe, “300 calories for half a cup ain’t so bad, is it? Since I decided to take the morning to myself rather than reading, writing, or grading (or watching Friday Night Lights, boo! I decided to try out this recipe with adaptations that suit my tastes and pantry. 3 c old-fashioned rolled oats. 3/4 c shredded coconut. 1 c sliced almonds. 2 T toasted wheat germ. 2 T flax seeds.

Mom Smoo: August 2008
http://momsmoo.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Apparently my child is a brat. Well, that is my interpretation of it. I had to have a meeting with school on Wednesday night. The report -. L is getting progressively more aggressive. He isn't listening to his teachers. He doesn't follow certain rules (like today he peeled off every last label in the work room when he was supposed to be napping). And when he gets in trouble he poops in his pants or wets his pants. The teachers also wanted to make it clear that this week is dif...

Pizza cups | My Rubberbandball
https://boxingoctopus.wordpress.com/2010/08/31/pizza-cups
About the boxing octopus. Enter the pizza cup. I had seen a recipe for them in Everyday Food. And again a few days later on The Kitchn. I decided to follow their lead (if not their recipes, except for cook times) and give pizza cups a whack. I started with Pioneer Woman’s pizza crust. For the sauce, I took a 28-ounce can of peeled whole tomatoes, a small can of tomato paste, and dumped them into a pot with a generous shake of Ana’s Herbs. Bake at 450 for 12 minutes and let cool for a few minutes. Ser...

Mom Smoo: Snowy, snowy, snow
http://momsmoo.blogspot.com/2009/03/snowy-snowy-snow.html
Monday, March 2, 2009. Snowy, snowy, snow. It actually wasn't as much snow as they were predicting. It was one of the weirdest snow storms I have seen in a while. Snowed a bit Sunday morning, then was supposed to start snowing late Sunday. dusting came first thing in the morning. There wasn't even snow on the grass at 6am. Then all hell broke lose and school was closed within 2 hours and we had at least 4 inches. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Well a week ago.

Mom Smoo: into the swing
http://momsmoo.blogspot.com/2009/05/into-swing.html
Wednesday, May 13, 2009. There are so many times when I think I need to come here and update. today I just happen to have the time. This morning I learned that R can puke into a trash can and toilet and will find me when he needs to throw up again. I think that is something I could have lived without knowing for a while longer. When I saw solid poop on Saturday, I did a little dance and thought we were finally over it. So last night when he started puking again, it came as a bit of a surprise.

Muscat Love: July 2007
http://muscatlove.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Is this thing on? Saturday, July 28, 2007. 98 Degrees in the shade. Doesn't seem so bad does it? Until you put the temperature gauge in the sun and wait awhile. In the sun that 98 shoots right up to 126 degrees. We stay in the shade. Or in the pool (which is in the shade). Or inside. Everyone we have talked to over the last 5 days has said something along the lines of "oh, the weather is really mild right now. This is so unusual. It's just not that hot". We thought they were joking. Links to this post.
