Jeff and I just submitted our online adoption application. We will wait to officially be assigned a case manager and should hear from him/her today or tomorrow. Adopting our Children to Grow our Family. Monthly Archives: June 2014. So… kind of a double-whammy for us. DRC has been on hold for a year and could be on hold for years to come. Our agency shut down on Wednesday, June 25th, and no, we don’t get our money back (this is the #1 question you all ask me, which I totally understand). We would like our first adoption to be a domestic (in the US) newborn. We would like to adopt an African American kiddo as we hope to adopt our second kiddo from Africa.

Sunday, April 2, 2017. What I struggle with most as a parent. This July I will have been a parent for 19 years. I am 37 years old. Over half my life I have been a mother and a wife. I have been adjusting to this whole idea of raising small humans into large humans for 19 years. Although it's been hard, I'm thinking I'm starting to learn. I have found that I have one part of life as a mother that is so much harder than any other parts. It's not taking care of babies, or lack of sleep for years on end.
