Several items of particular significance were hand crafted by Stephen Perdue. These furnishings are made from native Texas Pecan and African Paduak - a dark-reddish wood. The symbols are simple yet expressive. The narthex table prominently features a Celtic cross. This ancient symbol is a favorite at DaySpring. They invited us to share with the church about Project Ruth and our time in Romania. Susan and Poo (our host). Friday was our last day in South Boston. Mickey and Ben had decided to show us some sites of South Boston like Berry Hill (an old plantation) and The Prizery (where tobacco was sent to be sold). We even saw our first tobacco field.
