Kalanag: November 2012
http://kalanagknit.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
This week I started swatching on my first real design (in my studio. Say something, somewhere, about how she thinks decreases look prettier than increases and I would have to agree, after really thinking about it. Then there is the ribbing, a dainty lace rib, or a sturdy fisherman's rib to balance out the sweetness of the lace? So many questions and possibilities! A sweet new friend. Thanks for reading,. Eye Spy with My Kiwi Eye: August 2013
http://eyespywithmykiwieye.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 August 2013. Letter to a friend. I am an imperfect person. That is for sure. I feel a lot and I think far too much than one really should. I worry a little too much ( caused by the over-thinking. I am all of these things and have a longer line than we have time for of all of my imperfections, but at the end of the line, my imperfections –like those that live within us all – make me up to be me, and for that reason I hereby wouldn't change a single one of them. I note the obvious differences.

Eskimo Kisses: We're in Tok!
http://www.carissacarlton.com/2013/11/were-in-tok.html
Saturday, November 23, 2013. After about a 6.5 hour drive we made in to Tok, Alaska where you can find a charming diner and motel to stay at. We ate at Fast Eddy's and stayed the night at Young's Motel, if you ever make it to Tok, Fast Eddy's is a lot nicer than you would expect and they make a pretty decent burger too! I'm writing this quickly while Walter and Michael wait in the car so we can set off to Watson Lake today, we have a 12 hour drive ahead of us! Until next time, friends!

http://www.carissacarlton.com/2013/11/almost-halfway-there.html
Sunday, November 24, 2013. We made it to Fort Nelson this evening! We had a crazy day yesterday on our nearly 14 hour drive and started feeling like we would be driving forever, seriously the trip from Tok to Watson Lake was hell, but we did it! Which is where we're stopping for a few days to spend Thanksgiving with family before heading down to Arizona. So now we must shower and rest up for a nearly 10 hour drive tomorrow but I leave you with this short video of very exciting buffalo!

Eye Spy with My Kiwi Eye: Thought of the day...
http://eyespywithmykiwieye.blogspot.com/2015/06/thought-of-day.html
Friday, 5 June 2015. Thought of the day. This beautiful Buddhist quote found its way to my inbox two days ago, and it made me think. The times when you are suffering and struggling in that way, taking action, and working really hard, are the greatest opportunities for you to do your human revolution and make headway in changing your karma. 8203; Morning always follows night. Having faith that a new day will arrive is the spirit of Nichiren Buddhism. The important thing is not to quit, not to give...Since...

http://eyespywithmykiwieye.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 20 July 2012. The last few weeks. So sorry I’ve been away from blogging for what feels like forever! It’s been a busy couple of weeks to say the least. Wanted to quickly update you on what I’ve been up to. I asked our friends Keith and Sylwia to take a picture of Filip and I, in a funky and beautiful café nearby our house (. Well old house…more on that later. Turns out I had a momentary colour blind moment picking highlighter yellow…How did I get that so wrong. Minus the pretty paper. In town, an...

Take a gander if you're interested :). Posted by Carissa Eskimo Kisses. Friday, March 28, 2014. This comment has been removed by the author. April 8, 2014 at 1:14 AM.

Kalanag: Welcome, July / Buttermilk Grilled Chicken.
http://kalanagknit.blogspot.com/2013/07/welcome-july-buttermilk-grilled-chicken.html
Welcome, July / Buttermilk Grilled Chicken. It's been busy around our apartment the last three or four weeks. We're not used to so much commotion. Nearly every weekend has been filled with friends visiting, celebrating something, mostly eating. In which he highlights "Bbq" and points out that for some reason women leave grilling or "Bbq" to men. The tiny feminist in me started shouting "I can grill too. Im going to grill this chicken! 3 lbs various bone in, skin on, free range chicken parts,. With the re...
