Six Weeks and Three Kids. Life lately, according to my iPhone (this is going to be long and rambly). We had a baby. She is perfect. And though I just told you how crazy three kids is, this is hands down my favorite newborn momming. I am smitten. We all are—especially (and somewhat surprisingly, given how jealous she was leading up to Hattie's birth) her big sister. And this (I lived in that rocking chair for the first three weeks of Hattie's life). Those three freckles are my very favorite. Luckily, we l...

the everyday burts: About Me
http://burtastic.blogspot.com/p/our-girlie.html
I take heart that none of that has changed in the face of heartbreak. Our sweet look-a-like little boys, Andrew and Benjamin, were stillborn in October 2011. Words I never thought would be mine to say: I. Have two kids on earth and two more in heaven. Though I must daily find the balance between the joy and disappointment of it all, I remain hopeful that amazing things are yet to come in the everyday living with one great husband and two amazing kids. I love that story...: General Conf. 2013
http://suzyjeffords.blogspot.com/2014/03/general-conf-2013.html
General Conf. 2013. These are a couple of our General Conference traditions! Gen Conf. is coming up in a couple weeks and my kids are pumped because of this right here! You are allowed to partake if you are sitting and listening. You don't HAVE to sit and listen but if you want to eat then you have to sit. They usually sit for a bit to eat then they get up and run around til they get a bit nippish again! I also got the littles new coloring books and they LOVED that! Something I will do for sure again!

After a choppy start to our summer, we decided to retool travel plans a bit and simplify. So we have stayed close to home and refocused on our little family of four as I try to come to terms with the idea that we may, for some while yet at least, be just a family of four. And though there have been moments of guilt and frustration at the "boring" summer, it has been nice to rediscover home after a very stressful, busy, downright crazy year. Our perfect summer night (followed by popsicles).

My sweet little niece Lily belle is getting blessed this weekend. She really is so, so sweet. And since here mommy was sick with vertigo in the final throes of pregnancy and is just as camera crazy as I am, I figured he might like to see pics from her baby shower—just days before her little gal joined our family. I found the perfect old early reader at a thrift store for $3 that yet again reminded me that I wish I had been alive in the days of bobby socks and saddle shoes (those dresses! Years ago and ha...

BUT the blog will go on as soon as I set it all up and I will finish 2012! I love that story! How do you feel? My friend Marc Gamberdella posted this on his fb page. In an onslaught of other friends posting about gun control. I had so many mixed emotions and Marc nailed it on the head for me. Thank you Marc for putting it so eloquently. Education, parenting, love and peace.please. Those days have been long gone, and we are just plain seeing the effects of it. Don't believe me? Guns are not the problem...

One of the million reasons why I love Sunday afternoons. Turns out she loves tights and ditched her church dress to wear the stockings like pants for the rest of the day. Links to this post. If you are like me, you are going through sugar deprivation after weeks of candy corn and tootsie rolls for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try this for a little sweet happy instead. She landed on a vampire costume at the last second after seeing Hotel Transylvania. She's a trick, but a treat. Links to this post.

Porter: Mommy, can we play in the sandbox? Me: Nope, it's not bath night. Porter (upon my arrival onto the scene): Don't worry Mom, we're not playing in the sandbox. In fairness, he was right, I never said they couldn't dig up the rocks and peel back the weed cloth next. Links to this post. The Girl I Love. This is our little girl—a whirl of frilly pink giggles and mismatched shoes. Please don't ever grow up. Links to this post. Thank you, Uncle Chris. Dear Uncle Chris,. So who's laughing now? Still Looking Back (May). And now, May.2013. As in one year ago. Read on if you wish, though I'm really only doing this because I am obsessive about order and time (though I am always late to everything), and I can't bring myself to gloss over an entire year. May 2013. One year ago. Plus, May brings Mother's Day which, this year, included walls plastered in Mommy-Nora stick figures that stayed up for months. See (Our last day of school ice cream date.). Every once in a while, I can even get him to smile ...
