Domestic Reveries: June 2014
http://domesticreveries.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2014. Since getting married almost two months ago, there is so much I have wanted to blog about, but I have been surprised at how much there is to do after getting married! Slowly, I hope to get back into blogging, as I am transitioning to wife-hood and being the keeper of the home. All this to say that I have not abandoned this blog and there will be more to come! Corner of Joy: The Big Move
http://cornerofjoy.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-big-move.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. We closed on our house at the end of June, and ever since then life has been a whirlwind. We celebrated Victoria's 1st Birthday and Andrew's first Father's Day all in the same weekend, then closed on the house the next day. It was refreshing to have a weekend of family time before our lives turned completely upside-down. Birthday morning sleepy snuggles with dada are the best. I am not kidding. Talk about gross. The hardest part of this entire process was being a mom in the midst o...

Corner of Joy: Kielbasa and Pepper Hash
http://cornerofjoy.blogspot.com/2015/06/kielbasa-and-pepper-hash.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. Kielbasa and Pepper Hash. This is one of my all-time favorite meals. I found a recipe that was similar to this and adapted it to be a bit healthier and more my taste. When I buy the items for this meal, I usually make it that very night because I can't wait to have it. Even Victoria digs into this very. So here is how to make my very simple favorite meal. 14oz package of Turkey Polska Kielbasa, cut in half length-wise and sliced. 1/2 large sweet onion, diced. Posted by Amy Joy.

Corner of Joy: My Testimony
http://cornerofjoy.blogspot.com/p/my-testimony.html
My faith continues to be a journey, and I have seen some very interesting bumps along the way. Let me describe to you what my life was like when I was going through one of my rougher patches, before I found Christ. Let me tell you about 19 year old me. Where was I when I was 19? Islam seemed so similar to Christianity, but left out a lot of the things I had questions about. How could Christ be "the son of God"? Couldn't he have just been a prophet? Isn't God the father the jealous God? One day, as I sat ...

Corner of Joy: Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues: Our Story Part 2
http://cornerofjoy.blogspot.com/2015/06/overcoming-breastfeeding-issues-our.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues: Our Story Part 2. You can read Part 1 HERE. Victoria, who was born at 8:30pm on a Friday, was still showing no interest in breastfeeding at 6am Saturday morning. I began to get worried and continued to try to get her latched, but she acted like she had no idea what to do. All the instincts that I had heard babies are born with didn't seem to be present in her at all. I knew that supplementing usually makes for supply issues, and that breastmilk supp...

Domestic Reveries: The Prideful Parent
http://domesticreveries.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-prideful-parent.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. I flew to Colorado for a wedding last week with our eight week old and he did amazing on the plane ride. While other babies screamed and cried, he slept or smiled at people. The people next to me, no doubt relieved, told me what "a good baby he is! It would be easy for me to think."Why, yes, he is a good baby, and I must've had something to with it! I have been learning to replace thoughts like, "My baby slept a six hour stretch last night! In no area has this been challenged mor...

Domestic Reveries: November 2013
http://domesticreveries.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Last night I got the surprise of my life when my boyfriend asked me to marry him! To give you a little background, we have been courting for 2 1/2 years and although I knew that we were heading towards marriage, I had no idea that it would be last night in the middle of the street that he would get down on one knee and ask me to be his wife. I mumbled through the pain. Can you come here? I have something to show you.". He opened the door to his truck and pulled out a gift ba...

Domestic Reveries: April 2015
http://domesticreveries.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. I Gave Birth at the Hospital: The Birth Story I Never Thought I Would Tell- Part 1. It's something I never thought I would do. But apparently my plans were not the Lord's plans. After studying homebirth for the past seven years, and diligently planning for every aspect of the waterbirth that I wanted to have, what actually happened was quite different. Here is my unexpected birth story:. I went to my midwife's at 39 weeks and had normal blood pressure there. Unfortunately, my m...
