Whitney Winkler: Advent Thoughts
http://winklerfamily3.blogspot.com/2014/12/advent-thoughts.html
Wednesday, December 3, 2014. When we've fallen, and when we're lost, God comes with one question. Not the question, 'Why did you do that? Not the question, 'What did you do wrong? The very first God-question of the Old Testament, of the whole Bible, is a love question howling out of God's heart: 'Where are you? Ann Voscamp, Unrapping the Greatest Gift: A Family Celebration of Christmas. But in this season, how can I be waiting for a very near. When I run from the Love, He asks, "Whitney, where are you?

http://winklerfamily3.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 8, 2011. So, I really wanted to get some fall snapshots of my sweet baby and family. I thought about it super last minute, so we couldn't get any of my photog friends out to the orchard to take them! Oh well. I still think we got some sweet little shots! Such a pretty day today too! Not much fall weather around here though.more of an ongoing Indian summer. I'm not complaining. When February rolls around, I will be dying for days like these! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Whitney Winkler: March 2011

Friday, March 18, 2011. Weeping comes in the night (winter) but joy comes in the morning (spring)! The transition from winter to spring almost always makes me think of that verse. Even though it is slightly out of context, the concept rings true! Anyway, we got to play outside almost all day yesterday! Or so it felt! We went on a long walk through the park, got some half price frozen yogurt with two friends, I went on a long run and caught up (through gasps) with a great friend, and we grilled out! I hav...

Whitney Winkler: Chandeliers and Long Roads
http://winklerfamily3.blogspot.com/2014/09/thoughts-from-runner.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Chandeliers and Long Roads. I am exactly 17 days away from the starting line of the Chicago marathon. This dream has been a long time coming; sparking from when my 19 year old self first laid eyes on the 45,000 runners barreling down LaSalle Street during my first magical autumn as a college student living in downtown Chicago. As with any long term goal, this one has come with lots of ups and downs. I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier. What but Thy grac...

Friday, February 20, 2015. We can gather beauty and do the greatest things, make the finest art, have the best euphoric experiences, and collect every memory, but in the end, death is the trump card to all of it. Many of us could not tell you even the full name of our great grandmother. So, we have, at best, a 100 year span of finding meaning in the earthly realms. You can find the (cell phone recorded) song, here. Talk about raw territory! Headphones help the sound quality). Let me find my place again.
