Nova Chemicals will idle their Beaver County plant in Monaca, PA for an indefinate time. The plant employs over 130 employees who will be laid off unitl reopening. The plant is the latest casualty of the fading auto market. The NOVA plant produces resins and polymers that are used in the production of automobiles.

The new budget proposed in Harrisburg by PA Gov. Ed Rendel was analysed by Bill Flanagan and Barbara McNees, President of the Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce.
