While my Mom was visiting we would take a tour of the yard every morning, so I wanted to post some updated pictures so she could see the progress. We would start on the upper (front yard) level looking at the flowers to the left of the drive. I've lined the drive with alternating daylilies, irises, hostas and perennial dusty millers. House of the Purple Worms. Sunday, 28 June 2015. SCA in the Park. I was on my way to look for the remnants of Rosecrans Fort and I passed by a regional meeting of the S.C.A. I had to stop and take some pictures. It was starting to get warm, so most of the armored people stood under the tree when they were not engaging in combat. I find it so fascinating to watch the movement of the one on one combat. This man's armor was beautifully stamped although it is hard to tell from my photo. Here is a closer view.

House of the Purple Worms. Monday, 10 August 2015. A Celebration in Chicago. My fabulous sister treated me to a pampered weekend in Chicago because I had a big birthday this year! I drove several hours to get there and she flew in to meet me and we got there at exactly the same time! On the way in I caught a glimpse of the famous city skyline. We had a wonderful time. The city is very exciting and has much architectural history to recommend it. We had both a sitting area and a sleeping chamber.
