Two Trains: THE MUSICAL REVOLUTION
http://hiltonp-twotrains.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-musical-revolution.html
Monday, April 21, 2014. During a brief spell in hospital last year recuperating from a badly broken leg, and the insertion of more metalwork than I really want into my body, a good mate of mine gave me an iPod to help pass the time. This re-Kindle-d (yes, I know, very funny) my interest in music which had become a bit distracted in recent years. The next generation of music enthusiasts, those born in the late 1970s and early 1980s, mostly skipped records and cassette tapes and started out with CDs and DV...

Thursday, January 15, 2015. OF FRIENDSHIP, IRISH COFFEE AND THINGS. 25 years later we still get together at least once a week, every week, without fail. The format has changed slightly since the dentist has retired, relocated up the coast, and can only join us every couple of weeks. The furniture manufacturer has also retired, but that has given us the opportunity to get together more often and the two of us now meet twice a week! The statistics are staggering! Flying lions of Busanga Plains in Kafue National Park. This entry was posted on Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 at 7:29 am and is filed under Conservation. During the dry winter season, most of Zambia is on fire. Local people living in rural areas set the dry grassland alight, so that when the summer rains arrive, their cattle can graze on the succulent new growth. The smoke from the fires casts a drab veil over everything. It’s a thin grey soup that fills the air up to 3 000 metres. And then, as our bumblebee...

Mana Pools in Zimbabwe is famous for it’s walking safaris. It’s one of the few conservation areas in Africa where you’re allowed to walk freely among the wild animals. While staying at Little Ruckomechi camp, I was lucky to go walking with wild dogs in Mana Pools. Once he had gone, we walked up to the site of the kill, and had a look at the impala carcass....
