Friday, June 30, 2006. View from the balloon, VA is very green. Us up in the sky. Scott-the pilot, Cindy and me. What would be one of the the most relaxing things to do? Thank`s to Bonaire Charters ( www.bonaire-charters.com. I had one of THE BEST EXPERIENCES of my life. I think everybody should try. And do not be afraid even if you are not a big fan of heights. It is so nice and peaceful up there, there is so much to admire that you won`t even have time to get scared. I highly recommend! It is very very!

Monday, April 27, 2009. Blue Ridge Parkway Ride. It seems that everything I add in here relates to biking lately! After the Silver Comet adventure last week, we undertook something completely different this week. We went camping at Montebello. With the Outdoor Adventure Social Club. It was a full weekend to celebrate the club's 5th year in existence. There was music (including my tunes on Friday night) and tons of activities. I'm going to try and map this route and link to it, but it was pretty ridiculous.

Fernweh: October 2010

An ache for the distance. Sunday, October 24, 2010. Tom and I spent 10 wonderful days in Washington. We visited North Cascades NP, Mount Rainier NP, Olympic NP and Seattle. All camping except Seattle where we stayed with an old friend of Tom's. I was inspired to visit the area after watching the PBS series The National Parks: America's Best Idea. The mountains and rain forests of the area reminded me of New Zealand. Tom and I planned the trip ourselves, and this was our first big solo trip since Maine.

Mattie's Accountability Blog: March 2009

Monday, March 30, 2009. Ok, looks like we're doing weekly updates these days, so let's see what I can remember. Last thursday my training plan called for a 300yd swim and 30 minute walk, so I got my butt up early to get the the gym. Swimming is always more pleasant first thing in the morning, as I haven't had to share a lane yet. So I did my 300yd swim and did my walk on the treadmill. I decided I could do a little more, so I did my first workout from my Weight Training For Cyclists book as well. Today w...
