Reflections on life. and God. and grenada. and all things beautiful. Thursday, December 13, 2007. Can't seem to escape this theme of fish. One way is through music. i've managed to learn a little steel pan while i've been down here. joined the grand roy pan angels. during the christmas season - november and december - we've been playing at fish friday every other week. last week was one of my most favorite performances. That's right. the huggins will be having a grenadian christmas. I keep seeing rainbow...

going barefoot.: January 2008
http://abbysreflections.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Reflections on life. and God. and grenada. and all things beautiful. Friday, January 25, 2008. An abundance of mangoes. I can't pray for just me. i must pray for us. That's what miss hilda told me this morning. miss hilda who believes God is going to restore her sight and allow her to walk again. who says her faith has kept her alive. miss hilda who is somewhat taken care of by her daughter, a struggling single mom. but ignored by much of her family. I can't pray for just me. i must pray for us. And taki...

Reflections on life. and God. and grenada. and all things beautiful. Friday, December 5, 2008. Rhonda keeps singing leaving on a jet plane. One week from now i will be floating amidst the clouds. somewhere in between grenada and north carolina. somewhere in between homes. grenada has been my home for over fifteen months. my life. my reality. and now i'm leaving. and i don't know when i'll be back again. Living the Questions: Confessions on Light in Questions
http://imaginethedivine.blogspot.com/2007/11/confessions-on-light-in-questions.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Confessions on Light in Questions. I have a confession to make. I haven't posted on this board since I introduced myself months ago, and I haven't even picked up my bible since then. Come to think of it, I haven't picked up a bible (except that teen Bible to find the funny devotion about the cat in the microwave - long story) to actually sit down and read it in about two years. For some reason, that line in John (and that last post, which interpreted. Church and I had a bit ...

Living the Questions: happy birthday jesus and erin.
http://imaginethedivine.blogspot.com/2007/10/happy-birthday-jesus-and-erin.html
Thursday, October 18, 2007. Happy birthday jesus and erin. Not sure the format we're looking for. more or less rambling my thoughts and questions. looking forward to hearing your different perspectives and insights. So much that could be said and asked about each one of these texts. the beginning of the gospels. the introduction of christ. the christmas story that is easy to rush through because it seems so familiar. each account seems so different. what do we make of inconsistencies? How do we approach ...

going barefoot.: as i went down by the river to pray...
http://abbysreflections.blogspot.com/2008/09/as-i-went-down-by-river-to-pray.html
Reflections on life. and God. and grenada. and all things beautiful. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. As i went down by the river to pray. My soul seems to be drawn to the river quite often these days. because of its beauty. because of its simplicity. because there is solitude. because there is community. and nature. and everyday life. it's where people wash. and bathe. and clean fish. and splash. and play. and live. Living the Questions
http://imaginethedivine.blogspot.com/2007/11/i-cant-honestly-say-i-have-any-answers.html
Thursday, November 1, 2007. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). You mean being 'religious' is not merely a matter of conforming to massive rule books handed down by generations of legalistic scholars? I actually have to think about things like 'manifesting the beauty Divine' in the here and now, not just follow a crime-and-punishment logic to please Grand Inquisitor God? In this view, faith is no longer a matter of allegiance to a specific community or identity, but. Linda Hogan and Brenda Peterson.

Living the Questions: i like john
http://imaginethedivine.blogspot.com/2007/10/i-like-john.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2007. I liked the hopeful sense of the beginning of Mark: "The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, Son of God." It provides an interesting parallel to the end of Mark, when the disiplines "went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere" (16:20). I'll add some more later. Thanks for posting. I love you.
