Ben's Yen: June 2014
http://bensyen.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 16, 2014. Actually, no. A bit apprehensive, but nothing more than that. I guess, I made peace with myself and I am aware of my mortality. Anyway, I'll get back to that later after I get something else off my chest. Last month it was the dentist. Barring the fact that nothing has been right with my body since the last time I was in hospital, the opportunism exhibited by these physicians is worrying and annoying! Back to Rene Descartes. Pain always serves to remind us that we're mortal bei...

Ben's Yen: The stupid ones cometh
http://bensyen.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-stupid-ones-cometh.html
Monday, May 4, 2015. The stupid ones cometh. It was a cold Monday in March when I stirred from deep sleep. Today was the day. I was grumpy because I hadn't seen a 5 am in years. At least not as the start to a day. Struggling to see between crusts of dried eye goo, I picked my wallet; confirmed my ID and voter's card were intact, as well as the observer's badge that would save me the pain of queuing for hours. After hastily washing and wiping away the goo, I was off. That is all that matters, right? The p...

Tuesday, March 3, 2015. My life is like unto a bargain store, and I may have just what you're lookin' for; if you don't mind the fact that all the merchandise is used; but with a little mending it could be as good as new. Why you take for instance this old broken heart, if you will just replace the missing parts you would be surprised to find how good it really is. Take it and you never will be sorry that you did. You can easily afford the price. L. Ove is all you need to purchase all the merchandise.

Kenya, Africa: General life and a dash of ICT usually with a satirical and critical sprinkling. Tuesday, 30 December 2014. Can we solve the KCPE problem by abolishing ranking? If every time you measure something, a problem is revealed. You can solve that problem by stopping the measuring,. The purpose of an education is to impart knowledge, rather than rank small children. As usual, we are missing the point, or as I happened to be taught, missing the forest for the trees. Why? So while we don't officiall...

Kenya, Africa: General life and a dash of ICT usually with a satirical and critical sprinkling. Monday, 25 November 2013. Why Kenyans love Kigali (Part 1). Part of Kigali by night, including part of KG 7 Avenue. Standing at Telecoms House at KG 7 Avenue as the sun sets, one can clearly see that Kigali spreads over four or five hills (Wikipedia says they are four). One would swear that Kigali is a small city in size, but many will be surprised to hear that Kigali, at 700 kilometres squared is the same...

The silent airtime deductions that are done by PRSPs. Ever received an SMS asking you to subscribe to some service to listen to some mundane song, as if that stuff isn't available on the Internet for free? If your answer to the above two questions is Yes, then you are probably paying your hard earned cash for that crap.

Monday, July 8, 2013. Journey through the artistic mind, not autistic. A long time ago I gave up trying to understand my mind. I just appreciate that it's mine again. I stopped being completely detached and always looking at my life from a third person perspective(which fyi, is HELL! Original Location http:/ haythamkenway22.deviantart.com/art/Yin-Yang-287028054. I've always been a child of the wild, then again I'm also a willing prisoner in the concrete jungle. The city thrills me; all the noise, the...

A ride on the new Nairobi Commuter Railway from Imara Daima Railway Station. Boarding the train at Imara Daima Railway station. Inside the train, with one of the guards employed to watch the trains. Today, it did look busy, they didn't appear to be many people, but there were police officers. A lorry carrying ballast had tipped over by the side of the road, and this was slowing...
