Hi, I’m Nick. Today I live in Paekakariki, a small village on the Kapiti Coast of NZ – population 1500. I live in a small cottage with my wife Maree, my daughter Mia, two cats, three chickens, and a small family of wild goats on the hill behind. I started this website in June 2009, as a blog from my bed in hospital, in Lower Hutt, NZ. As part of my treatment for head and neck cancer, I had a radical surgery involving the removal of half of my tongue, leaving me unable to speak.
