Monday, 1 June 2015. We discovered so many different plants on the back grass today. We found almost 30 different plants, here are some of the flowering and non-flowering plants we identified. Mrs Akhtar helps us identify some of the herbs in the greenhouse made out of bottles. After our learning walk we looked carefully at a flowering plant and sketched it. We labelled some parts of the plant even though it was only our first Science lesson on plants. Here are a few photos to show us sketching.

Monday, 11 May 2015. On Friday we had a wonderful day celebrating Great British traditions during our May Day festivities. In the morning we. Iced cupcakes with Spring decorations. Learned how to Morris Dance. Learned how to dance around the May Pole. Watched Reception and Nursery performing their dances. Had May Day challenges which we completed in our classes. In the afternoon we:. Had an afternoon tea party eating our cup cakes we decorated earlier. Purchased lots of goodies from the Year 4 food stall.

Monday, 27 April 2015. Shadows in the playground. We have been studying light in science and today we have looked at how opaque objects create shadows on the ground. Sophie and Latifullah worked really well as a team to record their shadow observation so they got the privilege of recording Wisey's shadow. We enjoyed some time in Canon Hill Park and loved watching all the trailers of all the schools involved in Read to Reel project on the big screen in the MAC!
