Breakfast for Dinner. | oven mitton
https://ovenmitton.wordpress.com/2011/11/15/breakfast-for-dinner
Kitchen antics and anarchy that usually ends well. November 15, 2011. Personally, I love breakfast. I could eat it for every meal. Jeff does not agree with me. This was fine when Jeff was in school and I fended for myself. It is slightly more difficult when we are figuring out dinner together again. So, tonight, when I suggested breakfast for dinner, and Jeff didn’t immediately say no, I jumped. I knew it had to be good. And it turned out to be deeeeeee-licious. 1 and 3/4 cup flour. 1/2 cup cooking oil.
Pumpkin seeds. | oven mitton
https://ovenmitton.wordpress.com/2011/10/05/pumpkin-seeds
Kitchen antics and anarchy that usually ends well. October 5, 2011. There are a lot of recipes out there on how to roast pumpkin seeds. I remember eating them and loving them when I was little, but couldn’t recall the recipe of how Mom made them. When I called to ask her, she told me to soak the seeds overnight, and get up and bake them in the morning. Once they have been extracted from the pumpkin, rinse them so that all flesh has disappeared. No orange to be found. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Drain s...

Kitchen antics and anarchy that usually ends well. November 15, 2013. Well, turns out my worries were misguided. Last night, we took Milo to visit his daycare provider, Kathy. It is an in-home daycare, with thirty years experience, licensed, and perfect. Being there last night made me more comfortable to leave him, as I knew he would be in good hands, and in a great environment. I hope it all works out, and Milo can be with Kathy. And he continues to get better and healthier. Minnesota infant sleep law.

Kitchen antics and anarchy that usually ends well. November 19, 2013. So, back quite a few months ago, when we were searching for a daycare for our yet unknown little guy, I was blown away by certain things. One – The cost of daycare in Minnesota is the highest in the nation, when you consider the ratio of average salary to average daycare cost. We pay the same amount in Minnesota that is paid in Manhattan – where the salaries are considerably larger. Now that Milo is here, I have a fifth issue. I unders...

Kitchen antics and anarchy that usually ends well. August 17, 2014. So, it’s been awhile, and we’ve added to our brood! It’s a bit of a pickle for me to come up with recipes for our little man that last through the week without him getting sick of various flavors. As I know we will be adding to our brood again someday, and I have a tendency to forget, I thought I would keep some of our favorites here. Dal – Lentils, carrots, onions, light curry (developmental). Apple Kale and/or Chard. Notify me of new c...

New Life in the Lowcountry: I celebrated too early
http://amberversion2.blogspot.com/2011/10/i-celebrated-too-early.html
New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Sunday, October 23, 2011. I celebrated too early. Y'all come back now, ya hear? Drew's caption for this picture. This wild-eyed little missy has been driving me up the wall the past few days. How does such a sweet girl do this? Well, after our Friday celebration last week. Of God." But I can't, and, of course, I won't. (And really, she is perfect already.) I'm (and Drew) the best person to figure thi...But it is...

New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. And with a three-month-old baby at home, I don't want to take any chances. It was the second time yesterday that I had visited this Walmart. I went earlier in the day with Penelope and bought three containers of formula. More decisions will be made over the course of the next day or two. I don't have a smartphone, but I can text updates to our whereabouts on my Twitter page, which c...

New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Sunday, February 27, 2011. One big reality check. My dad, apparently, is a modern medical miracle. Well- that may be overstating it, but I think it's pretty darn close. It is accurate to say that had his aneurysm occurred pretty much anywhere else in his brain, he would not be here today. Dad and Mom on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Sunday, February 6, 2011. A break from writing. Good morning, folks,. I am worki...
New Life in the Lowcountry: July 2011
http://amberversion2.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Monday, July 4, 2011. A new world for Mookie. Life has changed quite a bit for our little furball. Instead of getting all of our attention, his wants and needs have taken the backseat to Penelope (except when we travel- more on that later). We felt like awful dog owners, but we were still getting the hang of being parents to another human being. When we all travel together, it's kind of a juggle. Mookie has ...

http://amberversion2.blogspot.com/2011/05/my-predictions.html
New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Sunday, May 8, 2011. As Baby A's arrival creeps closer and closer, I'd like to make some predictions as to what things will make those first few days, weeks and months easier. So I'm going to announce my predictions publicly, and then I will get back to you whether I was right. (I have a feeling I'm going to be completely off mark on some of them.). So, here goes:. Our family, friends and doula. As for the pump,...
New Life in the Lowcountry: April 2011
http://amberversion2.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Saturday, April 23, 2011. Life at 35 weeks. But that was an awfully nice thing to hear when you are feeling as big as a boat. I haven't been using a special kind of lotion on my stomach, but I do make sure to put some on every day. And I wonder if gentle back-bending yoga stretches has anything to do with keeping my skin healthy and loose. Who knows? Drew and I also finally. Labels: Charleston Birth Center.

New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Sunday, March 13, 2011. This is one of several birth/parenting stories that I will be posting on this blog in an effort to create a forum for parents, whether new or experienced, or parents-to-be to learn more about the experience of birthing and raising children. Even though every child is different, I think it's helpful to hear others' stories. Consider this my very own journalism project! With Conner, I got d...
New Life in the Lowcountry: My love letter to Iowa State
http://amberversion2.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-love-letter-to-iowa-state.html
New Life in the Lowcountry. Amber, Drew, Penelope and Mookie's adventures in Charleston, S.C. Saturday, September 10, 2011. My love letter to Iowa State. It was a big deal. We won 44-41 in triple. Overtime. How often does that happen? And it happened at Jack Trice Stadium, our. Stadium. The only way I could enjoy the game was with live updates online. Drew, Penny and I left to get groceries when regular time had run out, so I knew that I was going to miss some really heavy stuff. I was glad. Love It....

Thursday, July 24, 2014. How to Make a Tie Dyed Cake. I've been having a lot of fun with cake lately :D I've recently learned a really easy (though sometimes time consuming) technique that makes the inside of your cakes really fun. You can use this to make zebra striped cake, camo, or tie dyed. For tie dyed cakes:. Then add to the pan. For rectangle/square pans:. oven mitts & Toasty buns
Oven mitts and Toasty buns. Coconut Berry Smoothie Bowl. I’ve been on a total smoothie kick lately. They’re super quick to make on mornings when I’m rushing out the door, and they make a good snack before work to hold me over until dinner. The only problem I have with smoothies is that sometimes I sip on them too quickly and don’t realize that I’m actually eating until it’s all gone. Solution? I also love how versatile smoothie bowls can be! Coconut Berry Smoothie Bowl. 1/2 frozen banana, cut into chunks.
