The Sold Coast: October 2006
http://thesoldcoast.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
In search of Hudson County. Monday, October 09, 2006. I hate titling posts. A few quick notes on today’s news-story and editorial. About tree removal in Fitzgerald-Holota Park:. The Schenkman-Kushner building absurdly called Grove Pointe. There was community input in the Grove Point redevelopment: after community outcry, Schenkman-Kushner ended up working with the Harsimus Cove Association on the final plan, including and especially the park. The Sold Coast: December 2005
http://thesoldcoast.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
In search of Hudson County. Tuesday, December 13, 2005. Posted on the solstice. Every December I take about a week - the week of the shortest days, usually - and write something about all of the radio singles I heard that year. After months of writing hyperbole, wishcasting, and other pieces of hopeful prose on behalf of bands, this is my way of blowing off steam. I get pretty obnoxious. This is because:. Rap music brings out the savage G in me,. That I favor, and then in a black-on-white sissy version.

The Sold Coast: January 2006
http://thesoldcoast.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
In search of Hudson County. Friday, January 20, 2006. Paging through the charts, part one. It's been fun putting together the historic charts. For the Critics Poll. Leafing through sixteen years of ballots has been instructive, and it's reminded me of lots of great records that have been mouldering on my shelves: Blowout Comb. By Digable Planets, Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite. By Apples In Stereo, Ghostface's Supreme Clientele. Album of the year. Over Exile In Guyville. Was superior to Robyn Hitchcock's Eye.

Saturday, August 19, 2006. We were asked to create peices for a show called 'TROPICALISMS' at the JERSEY CITY MUSEUM. Flattered and challenged - we went through so many ideas, shoot tests etc., before blowing the deadline and then settling on PORTRAITS OF COCONUTS. They turned out good - the titles make them special. Sadly the package was pierced when it arrived from the lab and the corners were dinged up. This connection would not have been possible without JOHN DAQUINO. We are truely grateful. So bronz...

Saturday, August 19, 2006. So the bronze projects to date have all related to consummerism. We have made several shopping bags and gift bags in bronze. Once went to GALLERY125. In Trenton for a bit (bag #2 called PAPER OR PLASTIC). Bag #3 'SHAGGY BAY' and bag #4 'THE GIFT' are sitting at home until #6 and #7 are in metal. Then I'll photograph all of them and start shopping them. Thanks to my friend GEORGE. Here's a picture we took of George for the press. Posted by scrubbins at 3:03 PM. 5'11" - likes tea.

8220;Fuck all the Truth but fuck it slant.”–Emily Dickinson. Performers scheduled for Sunday, December 7th at the Bowery Poetry Club, 2:30 pm:. Was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where he became an underground sensation as a street dancer. Legend has it that he invented some of John Travolta’s more sexually suggestive moves in. This is an urban myth, however, as little Billy was only 3 when that film came out, but he was a technical advisor for the sequel. Has been studying improv at UCB since 2...

In search of Hudson County. Monday, October 31, 2005. And cannot be hoodwinked so easily. Music, you know; we rock writers just pretend we can in order to expand our limited metaphoric palettes. Posted by Spring Chicken 2009 @ 8:52 AM 25 comments. Monday, October 24, 2005. Hidden in plain view. Tonight I go to Grace Church Van Vorst to do some songs on behalf of the rocks. I am not running for office, though. And I've already got more friends than I deserve. Should I alienate my neighbors, my car...I lik...

Irony and Sincerity in Sweet Harmony. Visit Neon and Shy. State of Practice, State of Backtice. Well what a busy February it’s been! I just got done a marathon set of gigs playing with the West Philadelphia Orchestra, Three Men and Three Women in Black (Johnny Cash tribute band), and the every ebullient Polkadelphia. I also recently picked up some private students on piano, which has afforded me a massive new set of challenges. I also outlined a few of the solutions. Opening the door reveals…. That beaut...
