November 29, 2013. My first bowl traditional hakata tonkatsu ramen was delicious: layered but not dominant soup flavors, tender chashu, and just the right amount of shmaltz with firm noodles. My second bowl of "zen-nose deluxe" ramen- i could be at fault for ordering such a thing- arrived lukewarm, with flat soup, covered with a disorganized mound of toppings that included a cold egg and cold chashu.
