All requests for approval of training must be made at least 30 days in advance of the actual date of trainings. The following standards will be considered by the Office of Victim Services and Education (OVSEC) in granting, denying, or withdrawal of accreditation of sponsors, programs, or parts of programs:. A Courses must have significant or practical content;. B Subject matter must deal primarily with the theory, practice or ethics of victim rights or services;. G Audio-visual and media presentations.

VSPs who were hired on or after January 1, 2009. Are considered Basic. Basic VSPs have one year from their date of hire to complete the 15 hours of basic training.
