http://mariangoestoireland.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Sunday, January 28, 2007. Wearing Really Big Hats. This weekend I wore a huge hat. A hat that is normally worn by someone who is much more experienced and better at her job than I am. But I survived. Let me explain. So there I go, arranging things, checking things. The group arrives, we welcome them. They get their safety speech and they are told that they are to go to me if they have any problems! Right So there it was. I was officially in charge. No such luck. Could...

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: November 2006
http://mariangoestoireland.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Saturday, November 18, 2006. I have just found more fun pictures on a computer! These will give you an idea of what Corrymeela and Ballycastle look like. This is Coventry, and it is my home! No, it did not sink into the ground. It has always looked like this. Evidently this was 'cool' in the 70's! It appears that three pictures is my daily limit on blogger. I'll have to add more another day. Posted by Marian @ 11:50 AM. Links to this post. The last Irish post.

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: August 2006
http://mariangoestoireland.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Here is my holiday in pictures, as promised. Prepare yourself, these pictures are pretty amazing, if I do say so myself! My sister and I started in Barcelona where we saw Gaudi's cathedral, ate at a tapas bar, and strolled La Rambla- a pedestrian walkway with vendors and street performers. In Marrakech my sister and I walked around the entire city, once getting quite lost in the part of the city that was designed to get invaders lost so that th...

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: February 2007

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Wednesday, February 21, 2007. An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore. I just finished reading Al Gore's book, A. It's all about the climate crisis and his efforts to raise awareness and push for legislative reform that will protect the environment. He uses lots of scientific research to support his points, but he presents it all in a colorful, easy to understand way with lots of pictures and graphs to illustrate his points. He's pretty convincing. In other news, work continues ...

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: September 2006
http://mariangoestoireland.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Friday, September 29, 2006. Everyone's story is a love story". This post's title is a quote from a guy named Damien who came to Corrymeela and did a journaling workshop with us. He's a local playwright who seriously makes his living off his writing, which is pretty awesome. His daughter volunteered here a little over the summer, too. But anyways, back to the point of using the quote- I love it here. A top ten list of the things I love about Northern Ireland. Working 9 to 5.

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: December 2006
http://mariangoestoireland.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Tuesday, December 26, 2006. I think I have passed the test. If a person can survive being away from home during Christmas without breaking down into a blob of mashed potatoes with gravy tears, then he/she can survive anything. I mean, vernicious kernits don't even sound scary anymore- BRING EM ON! I spent my holiday with a few other Corrymeela volunteers. Once I return to Corrymeela, I can post pictures off my new digital camera (yay! Posted by Marian @ 8:53 PM. That titl...

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Thursday, May 25, 2006. To being able to go, that is. I have received my plane tickets in the mail from the travel agency. I'll work hard not to lose them. They are pretty much worth more than most of my possessions. Awesome. I have also been notified that my supporting documents are on their way from Ireland! But I'm still in Ohio. Posted by Marian @ 10:12 PM. Links to this post. Saturday, May 20, 2006. What will I be doing? Posted by Marian @ 6:24 PM. Links to this post.

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: June 2006
http://mariangoestoireland.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Once upon a time. For all the family and friends who may end up reading this with little prior knowledge, I feel like I should explain myself as to why I am moving to Ireland for a year. Starting in October eight students and two chaplains began meeting to plan and fundraise for our trip. We delivered pizzas, dorm stormed for change, threw a Valentines dinner/dance, cleaned houses, held a raffle, held a garage sale and more! Links to this post.

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland: July 2006

Marian Goes to Northern Ireland. Wednesday, July 26, 2006. I realize I haven't updated in a long time, which is odd considering that this week I had more free time than last. But this week I chose to use my free time for napping! This week I was on kitchen duty, hence the title. No, John, I did not spend all my time peeling potatoes- they come already peeled! I did spend an entire morning dicing a two gallon bowl of potatoes! And now for some photo updates. Posted by Marian @ 11:03 PM. Links to this post.
