In Oxford, Will Eat: February 2015
http://inoxfordwilleat.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
In Oxford, Will Eat. Saturday, 14 February 2015. Goodbye Oxford.hello Brussels! I've really enjoyed writing this blog, and there are quite a few restaurants that I was still hoping to review (apologies to the Magdalen Arms, MVH, Oxfork and more.), but I've now moved away from Oxford. This blog will remain, and I hope people will find it useful, but for the foreseeable future there won't be any new posts. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). In Oxford, Will Eat: October 2013
http://inoxfordwilleat.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
In Oxford, Will Eat. Sunday, 20 October 2013. My Sichuan, Gloucester Green. Even though My Sichuan hasnt occupied the old school house in Gloucester Green for that long, several effusive reviews in national newspapers have acclaimed its authentic, spicy and slightly esoteric cuisine. Ive talked to people locally who corroborated them. So perhaps we were unlucky - but we found it hard to see what the fuss was about. Links to this post. Sunday, 6 October 2013. Links to this post. In Oxford, Will Eat: 1855, Oxford Castle
http://inoxfordwilleat.blogspot.com/2014/11/1855-oxford-castle.html
In Oxford, Will Eat. Saturday, 1 November 2014. 1855, Oxford Castle. 1855 was, apparently, a seminal year for French winemakers, as it saw the introduction of a new classification system. Today's pictures are particularly dreadful: blame the mood lighting). When it came to desserts, we asked to see the menu, remembering. From our last visit. An amazing (even by the Photographer's exacting standards). Or should we just celebrate the fact that central Oxford has a high-quality wine bar? 1855, Oxford Castle.

In Oxford, Will Eat. Sunday, 23 November 2014. I have created a brief survey. Asking for feedback about how I write posts and promote the blog and where I might review next. All comments and suggestions will be gratefully received! Links to this post. Saturday, 15 November 2014. Bamboo, Park End Street. Frideswide Square isnt one of Oxfords more glamorous locations: its a place to be hurried through, on the way to or from the station. It is home to the well-regarded Dosa Park. Links to this post.

In Oxford, Will Eat: Jamie's Italian Pizzeria, Gloucester Street
http://inoxfordwilleat.blogspot.com/2014/12/jamies-italian-pizzeria-gloucester.html
In Oxford, Will Eat. Monday, 1 December 2014. Jamie's Italian Pizzeria, Gloucester Street. I have to say I still haven't been to Jamie's Italian itself, but while Zizzi's is always reliable (and Gino's, sadly, isn't. Which provided a surprisingly acerbic element. The Photographer's Oxford Hot was also accomplished, with two kinds of salami and fresh chillis giving it extra edge. To an extent, Jamie's seems to be attempting to serve slightly modernised versions of classic pizzas - hence the cheddar on my ...

In Oxford, Will Eat: Vanbrugh House Hotel, St Michael's Street
http://inoxfordwilleat.blogspot.com/2015/01/vanbrugh-house-hotel-st-michaels-street.html
In Oxford, Will Eat. Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Vanbrugh House Hotel, St Michael's Street. But when we were there the basement restaurant was all but empty: it's a nice enough space and has. A terrace for warmer days, but there's a definite 'hotel breakfast room' feel. On the plus side, the service was decent, friendly without being either over-accomplished or over-attentive, which is fine with me. Pâté had been rubbed with chili powder. Beyond that, though, it was all rather unmemorable. The. When cut ...

In Oxford, Will Eat. Thursday, 14 November 2013. Natural Bread Company, Little Clarendon Street (breakfast). I got quite excited about the arrival of the posh bread shop in Jericho. The Natural Bread Company have outlets in Woodstock and Eynsham and regularly attend Oxfords farmers markets, but now they have a permanent presence in the city. Its not merely a shop, either - according to their website its a cafe and bread bar called Companion. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

In Oxford, Will Eat: September 2014

In Oxford, Will Eat. Monday, 8 September 2014. Out of Oxford] Hotel TerraVina, New Forest. As we left the Hotel TerraVina - feeling, to be quite frank, stuffed - I asked myself what had been the most memorable part of our visit. The airy terrace looking on to a pleasant grassy area where we sat? The impressively smooth service? No I think it was the toilets. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). In Oxford, Will Eat. Monday, 16 September 2013. Bangkok House, Hythe Bridge Street. Google reveals that Mexico City. In Canada are contenders for having the worlds smallest Chinatown, but Oxford must edge them out: on. Two (well-regarded) Chinese restaurants and a Chinese supermarket are hemmed in by the Backpackers Hostel, the Bridge nightclub, and Bangkok House - which, as the name suggests, serves authentic Thai cuisine.
