Oz-tralien: November 2009
http://oz-tralien.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Travel, photography, sewing, machine embroidery, knitting and the mumblings of a mad woman. Sunday, November 22, 2009. OMG- has it been hot this weekend-today was the hottest November day in 17 years! We are supposed to be getting a storm later on this evening, so far, absolutely nothing-just heat. MOTH has a 'thing' about using the air conditioner-he turns it off as fast as I turn it on-he maintains its cold-I personally feel its just right and so we continue with the on/off regime! My sewing room got a go...
Oz-tralien: September 2010
http://oz-tralien.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Travel, photography, sewing, machine embroidery, knitting and the mumblings of a mad woman. Sunday, September 5, 2010. We have a new grand baby! She's beautiful. Then, we are biased, she's also now 18 weeks old-so not so new. I think I must have sewed myself out before her birth and knitted everything I could think of and then, nothing. Not a thing really. Got very slack. The machine just wasn't calling to me. I've knitted a little. Life took over. Small but she has big feet! They are on another blog post f...
Oz-tralien: June 2009
http://oz-tralien.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Travel, photography, sewing, machine embroidery, knitting and the mumblings of a mad woman. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Tomorrow we move on to Virginia. The 2 weeks here at Terry and Ruth's has certainly flown by. The cameras have been snapping madly- I know I have over 600 photos in my Ruth file- many will be deleted at a later date- but they all still have to be reviewed. The men were initially not interested at all in the series but have been as avid watchers as Ruth and I in the end.and now the long w...

Flights, accommodation and all the rigmarole that goes with travelling times eleven people. Ged to get some sewing done. Mostly I have just done little dribs and drabs of ...

Travel, photography, sewing, machine embroidery, knitting and the mumblings of a mad woman. Tuesday, January 5, 2010. How to Machine Embroider on a Onesie. Machine embroidering on a Onesie, on a domestic embroidery machine, has got to be one of the most difficult items that most sewers will attempt. Here is a tutorial on h. I manage this tricky feat. Th. Is is neither the only way, nor t. Right way, just my way, and hopefully by me sharing my method you will have success in your endeavours. Ballpoint/Stretc...

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn: Handmade gifts and Tsukiji Fish Market
http://fabricribbonandyarn.blogspot.com/2014/10/handmade-gifts-and-tsukiji-fish-market.html
Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Handmade gifts and Tsukiji Fish Market. I made this owl for my nephew at the request of my sister-in-law. It was because there was a little owl in a book that he kept grabbing and it was getting rather beat up. This was a replacement for it. On the right is a picture of a baby shower gift. I used socks and headbands to make the cupcakes. There was so much to see at Tsukiji Fish Market!

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn: Star Wars Cupcakes and the Scenic Route
http://fabricribbonandyarn.blogspot.com/2013/02/star-wars-cupcakes-and-scenic-route.html
Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Sunday, February 24, 2013. Star Wars Cupcakes and the Scenic Route. They were so cute. They were for someone's birthday party. This was the scenery on the way back to school from our field trip. There was an accident on the H-1 freeway, so our bus driver took us back to school using the scenic route. It was a beautiful day. Enjoy! Kaohi Kaipu is the flat island next to Manana Island. Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Saturday, October 11, 2014. Door Prizes, Rainbows, and Japan. It's been a while since I've posted. The left is a picture of a half yard of fabric I won at one of the Bernina Club meetings that I attended. This is a picture of a double rainbow that we saw on the way to church one Sunday. That made lunch even better! I'll post more in another post. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget.

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn: April 2012
http://fabricribbonandyarn.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Monday, April 30, 2012. RRCB Parts 3 and 4. Finally finished part 3 and 4 of RRCB. Part 3 is neutral string blocks. Part 4 is green and neutral squares. Monday, April 2, 2012. My Anti-Candida diet allows me to eat 1 whole papaya a day. That is the only fruit I am allowed to eat, so I try to buy enough papayas to last us the entire week, until the next Farmer's Market. The last picture is of the angry bird.

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn: March 2012
http://fabricribbonandyarn.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Saturday, March 31, 2012. During spring break, we had a large water main break in our neighborhood. This large break caused four other small breaks, one of which was in the lane next to our house. We had no water for about a day. The next picture is of the trucks fixing a break up the street. They didn't get the the one in the lane until about 10:00 pm. It was too dark to take a picture then. Our water came back on at ab...

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn: QAYG and Candle Holders
http://fabricribbonandyarn.blogspot.com/2013/02/qayg-and-candle-holders.html
Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Sunday, February 10, 2013. QAYG and Candle Holders. I am exploring different ways to quilt my quilts on my domestic sewing machine. There are different Quilt as you go methods, so I signed up for a class at Bernina to learn how to make quilts using this method. The Bernina Club teacher made the samples and teaches the class. Apparently, this ruler can be used to make all the other patterns too. BackI don't know that I'll...

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. During the summer, I heard that CPK. I recently heard that CPK removed their gluten free pizza from the menu due to cross-contamination issues. It's a good thing I didn't order the pizza. I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon. The next picture is of how the summer went for both DDs. It was the summer of removing wisdom teeth. Ouch! I saw this quilt at the Hawaii Women's Expo.

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Saturday, November 17, 2012. A UFO Finally Finished! I finally finished this crazy quilt pillow case. I think it took me about six years to finally get it done. The part that I kind of hesitated on was deciding whether I was done embellishing it. I finally decided that I just needed to decide that I was done with it, sew it together and be done with it and I am so glad that I did. This particular fruit has been displayed...

Fabric, Ribbon, and Yarn. A record of craft and sewing projects, among other things. Tuesday, March 1, 2011. 9-Patch Pot Holders and Wreaths. I'm so far behind in my blogging, but this is what I made with those 9-patch blocks. I gave these away for Christmas gifts. I had a request to make more, but I haven't had time yet. I have been busy making other things. Every year the City has a wreath contest. These are some of the wreaths. The first one is made from things a person found on their walks.

Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Into the countryside: Hoi An. Our next stop was Hoi An, a smaller town along the central coast of Vietnam known for its tailor shops, where Guillermo and I spent more than a few hours pouring over fashion magazines and books, picking out fabric and getting measured for a few made-to-order suits and jackets (after all, I will eventually need to get a job!
