Who said Denmark is flat? I took these pictures from a small hill 100m away from my QTH and it's about the same height as my antenna. My antenna is about 100m ASL which is quite high after Danish conditions. This is the north/east view, a difficult path due to high hills. South/east view also a lot of hills close by, but a clear shot. South view is a perfect shot with downhill all the way down. It's sloping more than the picture tells, but if you're on a bike you don't have to pedal the first 2 km!

A few antenna pics at OZ8ABE. As you can see it was ideal weather conditions when I assemble the antenna. My old A3WS in front, the log periodic behind. I also experience the perhaps only advantage of having a flat roof, this gives you plenty of space for antenna constructions. BTW snow is actually very rare here on the island even though it's 55 N latitude. OZ1LXJ adjusting the topwire. Not my new swimming pool, soil here is clay and stone. All the stones. This is where all the OZ8ABE QRM is coming from! HF: Yaesu FT-2000 (not on pic yet), OM2500 (not on pic), Ameritron ATR 30, Sommer XP808 13 elm LP@ 70 ft/23m, Lannabo 80/160m vertical, slopers for 60 and 80m. In winter time a couple of bev. antennas 300m towards W, 200m towards NE. VHF: Yaesu FT-847, Yaesu FT-212RH, UK Linear Amp Hunter Six, 13 elm LP @ 70ft/23m (6m), Combi LP 1m boom, 5/8 GP (2m). UHF: Yaesu FT-847, Yaesu FT-7800, Combi LP 1m boom, 5/8 GP (70 cm). Hand-Held: Yaesu VX 7 and FT-10R.

From time to time you have to repair the antenna system. Usually it take place when the weather is real bad, but for once we were lucky. 3 problems have occured to my 9 year old LogPeriodic, some caused by the wind some by HF (me). To be on the safe side a 25m lift was rented. OZ1LXJ in action moving towards the 3 problems. Below: The reason to the high SWR on 30m was easy to spot. Must be why the manual says max. 300W on 30m. A couple of new T-match holders was made and first case closed. CU on the bands.
