Whitelion Windsurfing: Baked Veneer Hull Repair
http://whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com/2011/04/baked-veneer-hull-repair.html
Monday, 18 April 2011. Baked Veneer Hull Repair. I have purchased two timber veneered boards and built one and they all had problems with the veneer cracking. This was due to the veneer drying out and re-sealing was the remedy. I repaired a friends boards recently that was an extreme case. The board was accidently left in the sun(Australian sun - fry eggs on your car bonnet! In a board bag hull upward for two weeks! Here is how I undertook the repair. The entire hull was covered in cracks that. Veneer an...

Whitelion Windsurfing: Board Building Project - HD Creeper 48 - Stage 3 - Shaping the Deck
http://whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com/2014/04/board-building-project-hd-creeper-48.html
Monday, 7 April 2014. Board Building Project - HD Creeper 48 - Stage 3 - Shaping the Deck. So I went to shape the lower rails(below the wide-point) and found I had made a error on the tuck calculation - I allowed for the 3mm shell on the outline but not on the pre-cut 6mm Dcell on the Hull. I ripped off 3mm from the wide-point with the router, squared them up, re-marked the wide-point and re-blended the rails. The Dcell hull was trimmed with my tuck template using a snap-off knife. Whitelion Windsurfing: DIY - Fins - Power Box to Tuttle Head Conversion
http://whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com/2011/03/diy-fins-power-box-to-tuttle-head.html
Sunday, 15 May 2011. DIY - Fins - Power Box to Tuttle Head Conversion. The conversion of a Power Box Head to Tuttle Head can be quite easy depending on the brand and head material used. I recently modified some Techtonics fins with PB heads to Tuttle for a friend. The fins were originally PB for use on older F2 Sputniks, they needed to be converted to Tuttle for use on JP Slaloms. . Maintaining Geometry - Keeping the same length, rake and position. Shaped PB Head sitting in the Tuttle Mould. Mould closed...

Whitelion Windsurfing: JP Super Light Wind
http://whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com/2011/02/jp-super-light-wind.html
Wednesday, 9 February 2011. JP Super Light Wind. Getting into the straps isn't too hard once planing but may still take some getting used to if you are normally sailing smaller less racy boards. Once up and planing the ride is VERY stable. To some it may not be engaging enough but it really does allow you to just relax and enjoy the sensation of effortless planing. I tested the board with the Select S10 57(as recommended by Rik! Posted by Tim Hemer. 29 August 2011 at 16:33. DIY - Baked Veneer Repair.

Tuesday, 16 December 2014. Board Building Project - HD Creeper 48 - Stage 4 - Deck Sandwich. Well I have been meaning to finish off this series of posts on the Creeper 48 build but one thing led to another and I haven't! Comments are from the my seabreeze post at the start of the year during the build. Creeper 58 coming soon. Using up scraps, 3mm plain on the left, perforated on the right. Pre-forming the Dcell with a heat gun. Tail panels fitted so that they can support the deck sandwich from below.

Whitelion Windsurfing: DIY Enclosed Trailer
http://whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com/2010/01/diy-enclosed-trailer.html
Friday, 8 January 2010. After years of loading and unloading station wagons enough was enough. I needed an enclosed trailer so that I could simply hitch up and head of for some TOW. I looked at what was available on the market and nothing really suited my needs which were. Take all of my gear each time I go sailing. Fit everything inside rather than the boards being on top racks. Allow the possibility to sleep inside. Have a low drag body for minimal fuel consumption. Have the same track as my sedan.

Whitelion Windsurfing: DIY - Batten Repair
http://whitelionwindsurfing.blogspot.com/2009/10/diy-batten-repair.html
Thursday, 22 October 2009. DIY - Batten Repair. Here is a simple Do-It-Yourself repair of a glass or carbon tube / rod batten. Tube rod battens are usually constructed in 3 parts:. The first part of the batten is a solid pultruded fibreglass rod that is about 8.4mm in diameter. The sides(windward and leeward) are tapered towards the tip that is inserted into the camber inducer. This allows the leading edge of the sail to have a nice progressive curve towards the tip. The third part of the batten is the t...

Oz Windsurf E-Zine Issue #9 - Editorial
Best of the West. Loathe as I am to rely on what is fast becoming a hackneyed catchphrase it did seem to fit for this particular intro as for a whole host of reasons I've been giving a lot of thought to where we (in the broader communal sense of "we") are headed? Personally I can't help but feel that the time is ripe for another "boom" in the sport here in Oz but like anything in this life it is going to take some effort and I reckon we all have a part to play in the process. While there's no denying the...
