Adventures in Purgatory: February 2006
http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 02, 2006. The wife and I went to Peter Jackson's King Kong. For our Jewish Christmas movie. (Okay, Jewish Boxing Day; Christmas was spent with her family.) Some thoughts I meant to post a while ago. There might be spoilers here, but really, people, the movie's been out for more than a month now. Read at your own risk if you’re the type of person to get upset by such things. Proposing a Jack Black Rule. Desirable in a would-be summer blockbuster? It's All About the Source Material.

Adventures in Purgatory: September 2005
http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 28, 2005. Opening this weekend, I've been planning for, well, not months, but it's been in the back of my mind, certainly. Unfortunately it's a busy weekend (playing music), and I'm not sure I'll be able to make it to both. And that, honestly, kind of sucks a little. The world is finally catering to my tastes, and I'm busy. I feel so impolite. I had been thinking of it as Nerd Weekend, but National Geek Day sounds so much more celebratory. Plus it was Joss Whedon. I've been paying a ...

Adventures in Purgatory: Anybody else remember when Thom Yorke wasn't so good live?
http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2008/04/anybody-else-remember-when-thom-yorke.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Anybody else remember when Thom Yorke wasn't so good live? Rather different now. The ever-shimmy went rhythmic, and his voice is impressively precise. Right then, haven't written since, what, October of 2007? It has been a while. Not that I have nothing to show for it, and maybe I'll even get into some of that. If I can manage to put some things down here, that is, and keep in touch in this little way. We'll see. Which includes a link to the whole report. I Can Has Cheezburger?

Adventures in Purgatory: No really
http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2009/07/no-really.html
Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Today I saw for the first time, in life, a man sporting a full-on Hitler mustache. Bold, sir. Bold. Posted by blerg3000 at 11:01 PM. See, I knew if I checked daily I would eventually see another post! It is like searching for an elusive rare endangered species in the jungle, it just takes perserverance and luck. :). As for the hitler mustache, you have to wonder the reason behind it. Was it for a part in a play? A sympathetic statement towards Hitler? I Can Has Cheezburger?

http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-know-they-have-to-have-narrative-and.html
Thursday, August 28, 2008. I know they have to have a narrative and all. Because of course the news needs a basic, easy-to-follow story arc, as it tracks events in the world, without adjusting. But why has no commentator pointed out the simple fact that this is the Democratic Party? For Democrats, this. Posted by blerg3000 at 9:20 AM. Maybe the major news channels that have multiple stations should split them up as follows. One station just lists bare facts and draws no conclusions. I Can Has Cheezburger?

Adventures in Purgatory: April 2005
http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Even the AP has to laugh sometimes. Where were you on Splash Day? I guarantee there were some giggles, maybe even a chortle or guffaw, when the AP released this. The last line is simply brilliant, evasive to the last. For fascinating and instructive balance, check out the Galveston County Daily News coverage. Of the same event. What's interesting is that as far as news goes, they're both just crap. Posted by blerg3000 at 10:29 PM. Tuesday, April 26, 2005. I am definitely not a ...

Adventures in Purgatory: May 2005
http://adventuresinpurgatory.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 27, 2005. Still Busy, I'm Afraid. LRPP-I continues, sucking up all available time like a giant. vacuum. thing. (Sorry, sleepy.) And not that anybody visits this space, but I hope to be able to blog soonish about going to LA for last Tuesday's penultimate American Idol 4 episode. Yes, I was there, live and in person. Thanks to all who have communicated condolences and/or pity. Posted by blerg3000 at 1:48 AM. Thursday, May 19, 2005. I wonder how George Lucas will be spending his time now. Hones...
