Monday, 31 May 2010. My Buisness card design. This design of business card is quite creative. To access the designers contact details the viewer has to tare off a paper strip. I like this interactive quality as it makes the card more memorable. Paula has used some of her illustrative work on her business cards. This is a direct way to give an impression of her work style and personal quality. I had a few disasters thorough this project. I need to develop an organized way of saving work on the compute...

Final Major Project: March 2011
http://p-singer0811fmp.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, 31 March 2011. I have been analyzing the selection of photographs and considered ways of creating letter forms from them. This first idea investigates how the images will appear on an existing font, using a clipping mask. Labels: Brief 3- ISTD Brief (Not just fleurons). Today I went out to document plant life and any letter forms I could see. The tree below was one of the best examples with an unusual 'u' shaped branch. Labels: Brief 3- ISTD Brief (Not just fleurons). Labels: Brief 4 -YCN.

Design Practice Year 3: Online promotion and point of sale (Female)
http://p-singer0811-dp3.blogspot.com/2010/12/online-promotion.html
Design Practice Year 3. Online promotion and point of sale (Female). Women main menu designs. I've decide to include one impact image on this menu that sums up the female range. The customer would then navigate through the information located at the top of the page. Below are the three possible ideas. Navigating the top menu will lead the viewer to click on (Graphic Tees) from there icons of the full range will appear. Then details of each individual top design can be easily located.

Life of Pi Plot reminder. This is a very short summery of what happens through the novel but it has reminded me of the basics. In the second part, the boat to Canada carrying Pi's family and most of the animals in their zoo sinks! Pi ends up with a Bengal tiger named. A hyena, a zebra, and an orang-utan named. In a small lifeboat. Labels: Brief 1 (Narrative Image). Wooly hat wrapping paper. Labels: Brief 4 (Image as pattern). Julian Gallash - Ballpoint illustration. Labels: Brief 2 (Printed Tees). Design Practice Year 3: Tron postcards completion
http://p-singer0811-dp3.blogspot.com/2010/12/tron-postcards-completion.html
Design Practice Year 3. Finally finish Tron postcards. I couldn't decide which design to develop so decided to produce three and pick one from them to submit into competition. I am very happy with how this project has turned out. Shame about photograph quality, they would have been better if taken in photo studio with controlled lighting. Final set of three postcards to promote the movie tron. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Brief 1 (Narrative image). Brief 2 (Printed Tees). Brief 3 (Urban outfitters).

Design Practice Year 3: Hiding
http://p-singer0811-dp3.blogspot.com/2010/12/hidding.html
Design Practice Year 3. Experimenting using just the neon strips to indicate characters and type. Front view of character. This is the side view of the character holding and iconic disc from the movie. However I think this design is not very clear. With the theme of hidden places in mind I have tried to create a 'space' in this image by drawing in a bright neon floor and a black background, so the viewer can't see the surrounding space. Its a bit boring though and still unclear to reason.

Final Major Project: Puffin Prize Boards
http://p-singer0811fmp.blogspot.com/2011/06/blog-post_6010.html
Wednesday, 1 June 2011. This was the longest of all my briefs chosen and perhaps the one that was exploited the most. However I still don't think the design is completely finished and could have been developed more with a more polished set of illustrations working more coherently as a set and applied to a larger range of titles. The layout and choice of font should have been more considered. Labels: Brief 2- Puffin Childrens Prize. Brief 1- Penguin Adult Prize. Brief 2- Puffin Childrens Prize.
