A classic that only grandma could make. Although I have had the store bought varieties, homemade is so much better. This is her old, old, old recipe. 4-1/2 cups of all purpose flour. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. 1 teaspoon cloves, nutmeg, and salt (each). 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 2 teaspoons anise seeds. 4 eggs, beaten. 2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar. F for 20-25 minutes. Shake warm cookies a few at a time paper bag containing confectionary sugar. When cold, store in a tightly covered jar.

We had several of his pizzas at his restaurant at Downtown Disney and this has been the first pizza dough I have made that came out how it tasted in the restaurant.
