One of the most beautiful things in life is when you suddenly see the things around you as if they are all new. That feeling has been sneaking up on me often this year – I suddenly look at and think about the world, and it generates a feeling of great happiness as I marvel at the beauty and the complexity of it all. Three days ago I was travelling for 7 hours in the open back of a pick-truck with 23 other people, my hair was sticking out like Medusas, grit covered every part of my body, mouth and eyes.
