PARCA's mission is to develop and provide certification for professionals who are engaged with the support, maintenance and day-to-day management of Healthcare Imaging and IT systems such as Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Certification is provided at five different levels, i.e. as a Certified PACS Associate (CPAS). Certified PACS Interface Analyst (CPIA). Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA). CPEMS (Certified Professional EMR Specialist).

O Osirix é um programa que pode ser utilizado sem conexão com a rede, importando imagens dicom ou relatóriosde cd's. Mas tambem pode ser ligado ao PACS, fazendo query (pesquisa de pacientes/exames) e retrieve (isto é fazer o download da imagem do PACS para a base do Osirix. Agora novamente no Osirix é preciso criar o node (PACS) que você irá utilizar para pesquisar os pacientes e fazer download das imagens dicom.
