metanarrative ~ about the project
http://www.metanarrative.net/about.php
A thousand generations. One story. Back in 2002, I began to write two grandiose rock operas (for lack of a better term). I called these Truth and Beauty Opus and Passion Suite. The former aimed to provide a sweeping overview of all history, from creation to consummation. The latter opened with the temple cleansing and (as the title implies) focused upon Jesus' passion, culminating in the resurrection. After recording most of the first volume of the project, I can speak more knowledgeably about the musica...

metanarrative ~ telling the story - main
http://www.metanarrative.net/story.php
A thousand generations. One story. Is certainly not original to me. It is simply the story of Scripture. But the Christian Scriptures are a large body of work, and the new reader sometimes feels overwhelmed at making sense of how all the pieces fit together. I hope you will find this telling to be helpful.

metanarrative ~ about the composer
http://www.metanarrative.net/composer.php
A thousand generations. One story. First off, I've never called myself a composer before. Singer/songwriter was more my self-description when talking about music. But the nature of this project means that I have no other real way to describe what I am doing. I'm not a whiz-bang musician, so. Is certainly not about virtuoso performance. And songwriter does not really describe my relationship to this project either. So we'll go with composer. In a way that is perhaps unusual in contemporary Christian music...
