It's been two months since my last post - Miss Philomena. Resolved to take fate by the throat and shake a living out of her. 02 May 2014 @ 05:01 pm. It's been two months since my last post. The symposium in Williamsburg was lots of fun. I met some new friends, failed to get any new pictures of my piemontaisse, and started making a calash bonnet. And its out of the prettiest cross-barred silk, too. I need to remember to take pictures of it. I did something sort of 18th century related? There are going to ...

I then made my version of the dress Merja has just completed. I wrote my se...

All Children are Artists. Tutorial 11 - The Golden Rule of Three. Nov 19th, 2006 at 4:31 PM. Sewing and costuming have a lot of rules that are bendable, breakable, or moldable under different circumstances. But in all of costuming there is one golden rule that can never be broken: You can have something cheap, you can have it quick, or you can have it quality, but never all three. This rule works for both making costumes yourself or buying costumes from someone else. So what do we mean by these? 4 commen...

Hemise · D. Ress · M. Wingeo chemise de la reine. all done! I x-posted this in my personal journal, chemisedresses, and in panniers.*. I had my son take pictures of me! Some of them turned out very lovely. he's a little artist at heart. he was telling me that he wants to be a photographer for his career. I hope he sticks to that. I really enjoyed this project! My hair-do is an attempt at a Hedgehog. I have crazy frizzy, super curly hair. and so what you see is my hair without me doing it.

My chemise dress - Chemise Dress Madness!
http://chemisedresses.livejournal.com/7502.html
Hemise · D. Ress · M. I needed I quick and pretty costume for the Friday night ball at Polaris 22 in Toronto, so I decided to jump on the band-wagon and make a chemise dress. Yay! Here's my first try-on. I love how you have to mostly finish the chemise dress before you can try it on. Here it's worn over my pink linen stays and petticoat. I liked the look of the pink peeking through so much I decided to keep it like that rather than make a white petticoat. Middot Leave a comment. I like the big, blue bow!

Ten Rules of Writing, revisited - Oached Pish
http://sartorias.livejournal.com/390547.html
Ten Rules of Writing, revisited - Oached Pish. 01 March 2010 @ 06:46 am. Ten Rules of Writing, revisited. Ten rules I liked a lot. These are from the author of the insanely fast-paced, high intensity Child of Fire. Here are my rules for today (they would probably differ tomorrow):. 1 Try to spend more time writing than cruising the Net, and that includes reading chat about writing. 2 Write what you love. If you're not excited about the story, there's a good chance no one else will be, either. 9 Research ...
