Paddle Humboldt: January 2012

http://paddlehumboldt.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 13, 2012. When it was decided that we would be moving back to Montana, after an epic fail at trying to relocate to Portland, I began to worry that this would put a serious damper on my kayaking over the next few years while I finish school. However, after a little research, I now believe that being here is in fact a great opportunity to explore the untapped rivers and creeks of my home state. Http:/ mtwhitewater.blogspot.com. Paddle Humboldt: It's Springtime in Montucky! Finally...

http://paddlehumboldt.blogspot.com/2012/04/its-springtime-in-montucky-finally.html

Wednesday, April 18, 2012. It's Springtime in Montucky! Even with the low flows, it was great to be out on the river again with good friends. It's amazing how much fun you can have bouncing a little plastic shell down rocks. And yes, sometimes that plastic is in the form of a helmet. But seriously, who really pays attention to those minor details? And now, for some photos. The view looking up Kootenai Creek. Jesse Dagle Photo. Jason Shredder running the Kootenai boof. Paddle Humboldt: December 2010

http://paddlehumboldt.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Well, here we are, sitting in the Santiago airport as the days in Chile draw to a close. My goal of paddling until my gear, and myself fell to pieces has been met, and I am left with a feeling of immense satisfaction, and a slightly sore back. Now, what everyone is waiting for. Thanks to Emily Meredith and Dave Hughes for the photography! Martin Belden and Seth Stoenner contemplating the lead in to Salto Palguin. Martin gettin ready to boof the right pillow. Paddle Humboldt: February 2012

http://paddlehumboldt.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 26, 2012. This past weekend, Drew Hossle and I rallied from Missoula, MT over to Hood River for a quick trip out of the frozen tundra and into creeking paradise. After a 10 hour drive, during which we consumed about five times the recommended servings of caffeine, we pulled into White Salmon, half cracked out of our minds to meet up with Orion Meredith, Dustin Stoenner, and Will Stubbelfield. Enjoy the photo, courtesy of Katrina Van Wijk. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Thank You Astral Buo...

Paddle Humboldt: Bear Creek High Water Fun

http://paddlehumboldt.blogspot.com/2012/06/bear-creek-high-water-fun.html

Sunday, June 3, 2012. Bear Creek High Water Fun. So, how's she lookin? I ask Matt as he walks back up from the creek's bank. He chuckles, and replies, "Well, it's not low. That's for sure.". Not low. Huh. Now there's an understatement. We finally make it to the put-in slide, the Big EZ, and peer downstream. We all seem to take our time at the put-in, and after a few minutes longer than usual, we are ready to rally. Enjoy some of the photos Rosalynn took! Brave Bear Falls, the top third. Rafting, kayaking, creeking and surfing in the forgotten areas of Northern California. North Coast California Whitewater. Sunday, September 2, 2012. Burnt Ranch Gorge. For the Family. What release am I talking about? The details have been sketchy and generally unavailable, but with a stroke of fortune (and perhaps legal discussions) the Bureau of Reclamation decided to release flows from Trinity Dam hoping to avoid a tragic repeat of the Fish Kill of 2002. Rafting, kayaking, creeking and surfing in the forgotten areas of Northern California. North Coast California Whitewater. Thursday, February 17, 2011. A Short Video of Upper Hayfork Creek.I.K. Carnage? To make a short story longer, I was talking with my buddy Alex Wolfgram one day. I mentioned Upper Hayfork, and in his charismatic fashion "Duuuuude! That run is awesome! Alex proceeded to explain that the "portages" were actually the best rapids on the run. Then, Upper Hayfork made my list. I was able to ...

Rafting, kayaking, creeking and surfing in the forgotten areas of Northern California. North Coast California Whitewater. Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Sierra Loving.Royal Gorge Style. After working as a freelance photo-kayaker in Coloma during 2006, I've only managed a couple of trips down to the veritable promised land of kayaking. Rafting, kayaking, creeking and surfing in the forgotten areas of Northern California. North Coast California Whitewater. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Me and Fishbone at Put-In. Most of these pictures were taken with flows close to 100 cfs. It was bony, but manageable. I'd prefer 200 or maybe 300 if I had a solid crew, but it would depend if anybody knew the wood situation recently. That being said, this run is good enough that the loc's should keep some sort of tabs on it from now on.please. But I have to...
