Buttons & Other Adventures: February 2016
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
Shop and Find Out More. Sunday, 28 February 2016. Carrot and Oat Cookies - UK recipe. I had an urge last week, to make carrot and oat cookies. I quite often get an urge to bake, but will usually be in my pyjamas and very unwilling to leave the house (even though we have a few supermarkets within a minute walk of the house! And so will do a sweep of the cupboards and fridge to see what I have, and then try to find and tailor a recipe to what I have in the house. 50g of dark brown muscavado sugar. 1 Prehea...

Buttons & Other Adventures: Holiday Fabric
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2016/09/holiday-fabric.html
Shop and Find Out More. Thursday, 22 September 2016. At one time, I would have bought a ridiculous amount of souvenirs when on holiday, but having lived in one of the smallest houses around for the last 4 years, I've got more into the mindset of thinking that I just don't have room for anything. So instead, I try to buy fabric, as then I know it will be used, and also it's a chance to get a different selection of fabrics that I wouldn't find at home. Here is my beautiful selection. There was an error in ...

Buttons & Other Adventures: January 2016
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
Shop and Find Out More. Monday, 25 January 2016. I was asked before Christmas to make a personalised mobile for a baby named Wilkie, who was named after Wilkie Collins. The titles they wanted were: The Woman In White, Armadale, No Name, The Moonstone, The Black Robe. I had a quick look at the synopsis for each book, but they are not the most appropriate stories for a baby! So I picked elements that were more suitable, and bold shapes and colours for the mobile. Tuesday, 12 January 2016. I also made some ...

Buttons & Other Adventures: Custom Dress for my Mum's 60th
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2016/09/custom-dress-for-my-mums-60th.html
Shop and Find Out More. Wednesday, 14 September 2016. Custom Dress for my Mum's 60th. I wanted to get something special for my Mum's 60th, but it was almost too much pressure, and I didn't know what I should get her! So in the end I promised to make her a dress, in any fabric, any style, perfectly fitted to her. So first things first, I went back to the shop that I bought the fabric from last year, and they had sold out! Never to re-stock again! I rarely line dresses that I make for myself, as I usually ...

Buttons & Other Adventures: August 2016
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Shop and Find Out More. Tuesday, 2 August 2016. I'm at that time of year that is wedding season. And the problem is that when multiple friends from the same friendship groups get married in one year, you feel you can't wear the same outfit repeatedly, as people will notice. I do have a few lovely dresses that I've had for years and only worn to 1 wedding previously, but I'm sure you'll empathise with the feeling of 'I have nothing to wear'. This is one that will definitely be worn again!

Buttons & Other Adventures: November 2015
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
Shop and Find Out More. Thursday, 12 November 2015. A Weekend in Oslo - How To Travel On A Budget in Norway. We've just got back from a weekend in Oslo, which was an incredibly beautiful, but expensive city! I thought living in London made you think that everywhere else was fairly cheap, but Oslo is definitely an exception. It was madly expensive, think £3 for a can of Fanta in a supermarket! 163;10 for a cheap drink in a pub! Here are some recommendations. We had breakfast in the convenience stores, whe...

Shop and Find Out More. Tuesday, 22 December 2015. Foxy Mountain Clouds Mobile. It's been a while since I came up with a new mobile design idea (I think the balloons were my last new idea) and then I was suddenly inspired by a baby jumper (I wish it had been big enough to fit me! Which had Foxes and Mountains on it. I added in some clouds, as you usually find those around mountains, and went to play with some felt. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Buttons & Other Adventures: Knitted Solar System!
http://mybuttonadventures.blogspot.com/2016/06/knitted-solar-system.html
Shop and Find Out More. Thursday, 30 June 2016. I still think back fondly to the day when I told my boyfriend I was going to quit my full time job and get a part time one, so I could take up sewing part time too. He looked at me with quite a lot of shock and said 'Well what exactly are you going to do? My answer was 'Knit the solar system'. And so I did! I did think about adding in the moons for the planets which have them, but thought that was probably taking it a bit far! View my complete profile.
