These few timecards are a small fraction of those published by the railway throughout its history. A key feature of the P.A.D and W was the limited service which was offered, with trains only running a few times a week. It became so bad at one point that people living along the line wrote letters of complaint to the federal government. Design by Maxwell Potvin 2011.

PAD and W - from Port Arthur to Gunflint Lake - 85.5 miles. PAD and W of Minnesota - from Gunflint Lake to Paulson Mine - 5.75 miles. PAD and W - $1,400,000 or $16,000 per mile. PAD and W of Minnesota - $245,000 or $40,800 per mile. Total (including road and equipment) - $2,600,000 or $30,000 per mile. Gauge - Standard 4' 81/2". Ties per mile - 2640.

Although the Port Arthur, Duluth and Western Railway and the Paulson Mine were owned by different interests in different countries, the history of these two entities cannot be separated. Many attempts to re-open the mine were made over the next thirty years, all of which failed. The failure of the mine was one of the contributing factors in the eventual demise of the PD. What would this have meant for the future of the Lakehead had this projected succeeded? Design by Maxwell Potvin 2011.

Throughout its history, the P.A.D and W had many different stations and stops along its 92 miles of tracks. This list represents a combined list that would have been in operation at different times between 1893 and 1938. Station, Siding or Stop. Slate River (Rosslyn 1904). Stanley (Stanley Junction 1902).
