In many ways, at least for the M&M part of the Paetkau family, Edmonton still has a special pull. This page is about those links that bind us to Alberta and have shaped some of the travel we have done in the past two years. In September 2009, the four Gregg sisters finally got together to take a portion of Mum and Dad's ashes to Jasper to fulfill their request. Jasper was often the site of family camping and road trips as we were growing up. So a return there felt like going home. Elk near Pine Bungalows.

Fall 2011 with Mark and Maureen and Family. There are always reasons to return to Edmonton. In September 2011, the reason was the 50th anniversary of the U of A Male Chorus. Mark and Dale Rusnell practiced the repertoire together at home then with Pat and Dale, we made the trip where the men joined in rehearsal and concert in Convocation Hall. Four days on the Olympic Peninsula. We had never explored the part of the US so close to home despite many good reports. So we took four days in August and headed there. It was a shorter trip than we thought. From there to the Coupeville Ferry terminal for the 30 minute crossing to Port Townsend. The impressive Court House. The Customs House and PO. Nine of us: Mark, Maureen; Stephen, Felice, Amelia and Jake; Jonathan, Heather and Gerogia, met in Chesterman House on Chesterman Beach December 27th for a week of family time. We woke each morning to the smell of coffee, the sound of a crackling fire (Stephen is the early-riser) and the sound of the surf.
