the heart and the voice | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2011/01/27/the-heart-and-the-voice
Tie me to a kite. The heart and the voice. To practice, no choice in the matter. Several things happened in those evenings of finding my voice again. Like returning to a house once lived in and discovering a nook that one doesn’t remember being there, new parts of my voice opened up to me. A new note up top, a new note or two in the basement. After. Singing classical music for nearly six months! It’s all happening. I have a lead role in an operetta. Rules for someone who doesn’t like rules. Feb 16, 2011.

Treasured Reverence: Just a Cup of Water
http://treasuredreverence.blogspot.com/2011/03/just-cup-of-water.html
Friday, March 18, 2011. Just a Cup of Water. And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward." Matthew 10:42. And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' Matthew 25:40. Ug The instructors are pretty hard on us. I'm hot, so tired, and really thirsty." She looked ready to cry. She accepted it gratefully and walked away. If just...

three things | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2010/11/26/three-things
Tie me to a kite. Okay, here we go. I’ve made my decisions. And here are the three goals from my list. I’m going to be focusing on for the rest of the year and into 2011. I’ll introduce each today, and give you my plan in general, then start a weekly-ish post on each to keep myself accountable and y’all updated. One: number 9, develop a Rule of Life and stick with it. Our home church in Seattle, Bethany Community Church. Two: number 10, perfect my aria package. Can I do it? Bread heels and frugal living.

sweet victory | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2010/11/23/sweet-victory
Tie me to a kite. Well, I did it. In June, if you’d suggested that I run a half marathon this fall, I would have laughed in your face. No laughter now! I ran 13.1 miles on Sunday in snow, over ice, and despite nearly choking at a water stop and getting a terrible side stitch (how do you avoid those anyway? We kept together for nearly the rest of the race and just having someone to run with made such a difference. Thanks, Kayla! The great balancing act. 30 things | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2010/08/18/30-things
Tie me to a kite. I’ve been inspired lately by a few other bloggers’ lists. They have taken different forms and sizes, but all have something in common: goals and dreams. Since I’ve been thinking so much about goals lately, and having decent success with one in particular. I decided to take on this task. So, here we go:. 30 things I want to do before I turn 30. Finish a half marathon. 2 audition for a real opera company. 3 plant a garden. 4 keep a garden alive long enough to harvest it. 5 make new friends.

Treasured Reverence: I am, and I am becoming
http://treasuredreverence.blogspot.com/2010/02/i-am-and-i-am-becoming.html
Thursday, February 25, 2010. I am, and I am becoming. I am one with God. Yes, it's true, but sometimes I find this hard to believe. Scripture says that I stand in the righteousness of Christ, that in Him I have been made complete, that I am joint heir with Christ in the inheritance of the kingdom, that I am indwelled with the very Spirit of God, that I am currently sitting in heavenly places with Christ. God's opinion is the only one that really matters, right? One with God, yet I am also becoming. Then ...

public announcement | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2010/07/28/public-announcement
Tie me to a kite. In being a girl. What I’m about to do and make public has seemed like a very scary act for many years of my life. Since my early adolescence, I have been less than thrilled about my physical appearance (okay, okay, show me a girl who hasn’t…). Competitive rhythmic gymnastics. And a stint as a cheerleader certainly didn’t help my self-confidence, either, nor did the 20 or so pounds I put on after I quit gymnastics. A rhythmic gymnast. hardcore, I know. No longer. Since getting marrie...

the great balancing act | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2010/11/19/the-great-balancing-act
Tie me to a kite. The great balancing act. Three months ago, I wrote a list. And what’s more public than my very own bloggy blog? Here I go to choose 3 things from my list! Expect my plan by Saturday! Oh, and on Sunday, I WILL check off the first item! Does anyone want to join me on my goal-getting challenge? Let’s do this! The 13.1 milestone. Nov 19, 2010. Katie, I am so inspired! Last year I dedicated myself to write down something positive everyday and I am almost done! Nov 19, 2010. Nov 19, 2010.

rules for someone who doesn’t like rules | tie me to a kite
https://katieannecollins.wordpress.com/2010/11/30/rules-for-someone-who-doesnt-like-rules
Tie me to a kite. Rules for someone who doesn’t like rules. I’m so excited about the Rule of Life I’m developing I could burst. I’ve discovered over a long period of time that me and habits are a bit like oil and water, but paradoxically, I also. I’m reading the Bible in the first place. I already nurture my spiritual life by:. Going to church, specifically worshiping God through song. Being active in Creation. Praying throughout the day and thanking God for his hand in my life. Making (and keeping) our ...
