Wiesler World: Evie's Brit Bat Naming
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/evies-brit-bat-naming.html
Saturday, July 23, 2011. Evie's Brit Bat Naming. Today was the big day - Evie's Brit Bat! Evie officially got her Jewish name and was publicly welcomed to our family and to the larger community. Rabbi Noa Kushner presided over a beautiful ceremony that involved official blessings, individual blessings and laying on of hands by everyone there, and a letter that we wrote to Evie explaining the origin of her name and also what we hope for her in life. Here are a few choice photos. July 23, 2011. Though Yael...

Wiesler World: Crawfish hunting
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/crawfish-hunting.html
Monday, July 25, 2011. This morning we went to the beach with our friends the Netas. Silver and her schoolmate Avi from Gan Noe were very interested in the bigger kids who were catching crayfish and then releasing them back into the lake. We had a nice picnic lunch and spent the rest of our time there playing in the sand, floating on our rafts, and splashing/spinning around in the water. I love truckee. Wiesler World: Breakfast with a Bear
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/breakfast-with-bear.html
Friday, July 29, 2011. Breakfast with a Bear. Today we started things off with a DEE-licious breakfast at the new cafe on Donner Lake. Silver stuffed her cheeks full of pancakes, sausage, and fresh fruit salad, while I enjoyed the standard eggs, toast, potatoes variety of morning feast. The food was excellent - and so was the company! Under new ownership, this place has been totally spiffed up. It's a bit more expensive but worth it. The most exciting part of the morning? The BEAR in the parking lot!

Wiesler World: Railroad Hike
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/railroad-hike.html
Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Today we discovered a huge network of great hiking trails right up the road from our house. Apparently these fire roads go all across the mountains from Truckee all the way to Auburn! Here's a photo of us in front of a whole meadow of mules ears in bloom. Beautiful! Evie snuggled down into the moby for almost all of the hike, only popping out for a quick meal when we all stopped to have lunch on some nearby rocks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wiesler World: Happy
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/08/happy.html
Monday, August 1, 2011. Another creative bed for Evie! This time, it's a big inner tube with a mesh bottom. Somebody should invent an inflatable baby bed like this. Something more compact and portable than the pack n play for infants. It's perfect - and obviously, evie loves it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From baby pool to big pool.

Wiesler World: Snooze
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/snooze.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. We've gotten into a good routine around here. Every morning, Evie snuggles into bed with me for a sweet nurse and some snoozing from about 7-8:30. When I see her sleeping like this, I almost can't believe how much I love this little bean. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Breakfast with a Bear. Evies Brit Bat Naming. Friends are the best! Wiesler World: Morning
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/morning.html
Friday, July 29, 2011. Mornings are the best. I never thought I'd write that (especially without coffee! But I guess parenthood has made me do a lot of things I never thought I'd do. The reason I like mornings now is that everyone's had a chance to get some rest, shake off the exhaustion from the day before, and wake up renewed and ready for a new day. Also, around these parts it doesn't hurt that every day is an absolutely perfect gem of blue skies and fresh mountain air. Breakfast with a Bear.

Wiesler World: River rocks
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/07/river-rocks.html
Sunday, July 31, 2011. This afternoon Silver and I brought JJ and Figgy and Evie to a little spot by the river that we'd discovered a few days ago. It's the perfect place to gather rocks and throw them into the water to hear the different kinds of sounds they make. KerPLUNK! Figgy romped in the water, chasing sticks. Maybe you can successfull suck out mosquito venom? I didn't think it would work, but I'm happy to report that it did! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Breakfast with a Bear.

Wiesler World: First splashes
http://wieslerworld.blogspot.com/2011/08/first-splashes.html
Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Not sure why this photo of Evie is upside down. But here's a pic of my sweet baby girl in her first bathing suit. She donned these adorable togs so she could splash around in the lake a bit for the very first time in her short life. She loved it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From baby pool to big pool.
