Cordwood Cabin Primitives: March 2011

Tuesday, March 29, 2011. A Few of Our Favorite Things: Canning Jars. Not just any jars, mind you: jars with character and potential, even if their years of use are long behind them. The traditional Mason jar, the Ball and Atlas brands are filled with personality. Colored glass and creative designs, such a delicate circle, a shamrock image, even a simple star create a charming package for making dry mixes for gifts or holding novelty handsoaps for display. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Taking a Little Break.

Cordwood Cabin Primitives: Stars-and-Stripes Sam
http://cordwoodcabinprimitives.blogspot.com/2011/06/stars-and-stripes-sam.html
Thursday, June 16, 2011. Decked out for a summer picnic in a coat worthy of the barbershop quartet serenading the crowds, Uncle Sam is ready for the Fourth of July. Red stars decorate the dark blue fabric; hand-drawn features peer from inside a frame of painted white whiskers. A bamboo skewer transforms him into a simple stick puppet ready for display in a Fourth of July centerpiece or propped in an old-fashioned crock or canister. Sam is joining the summer crowd in our Etsy shop - see them HERE.

Saturday, August 21, 2010. Dancing Down the Moon. Witch Hazel is ready for a jig 'round the Halloween bonfire . she's quite flexible when it comes to dancing. Cut from prim muslin and handpainted, Hazel's jointed limbs are poseable, her body ready to be propped up in a primitive chair or stand or perched on a shelf as a decoration. She's quite a jolly soul, with her cheerful smile and funny little stripey stocking legs. See Witch Hazel up close in our Etsy shop, Cabin Crafts. Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

Cordwood Cabin Primitives: April 2010
http://cordwoodcabinprimitives.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 27, 2010. A Recipe for Twice-Told Tales. Lady Margaret thinks great bedtime stories all have the same elements. There should be at least one cat. Color and size does not matter. There should be a Wicked Witch . There should be a Damsel in Distress (who should be pretty and appealing) . And a Nefarious Villain (or IS he? That's part of the story's charm). A Hero who sweeps in at the last minute to rescue her. He can have a sidekick, if he likes. Perhaps a comic relief choice. Not that there...
