This is an older piece which I never posted. I recently photographed some of my older works because the images I had from a few years ago were not accurate. My newer camera does a much better job. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Footprints in the snow. 24" by `18" daily acrylic painting. This was so much fun to paint. No references . . just my imagination. My daughter inspired the beginning of this painting and it just kept evolving until the last stroke of paint. As much as I hate the cold I love the look of fresh snow on the ground. I've been so busy with my daily small paintings that I forgot to post this oil painting which I completed last year. The reference for this painting is a hand fan of which I have a collection. It holds much less pastel particles so I need to be careful with my application. This was a fun piece. Sunday, January 9, 2011. 18" x 24" daily acrylic painting. Surface - gallery wrapped canvas. For the past few years or so I've been reluctant to make a commitment to painting large. What was I thinking? These last two pieces were very satisfying to paint, mostly because I didn't use any references. I'm beginning to realize that I love painting landscapes. There's a simplicity in them, and a sense of serenity. To keep updated with larger works. Big sky 2 is great! Thanks for sharing this!

I have had a drive to create since I was a child. As a teen I was introduced to Alfred Van Loen, a New York sculptor and painter, who encouraged me to follow my passion and draw daily. Painters who have influenced my work the most are Maxfield Parrish and Georgia O’Keeffe.
